Can you make a original firmware from a hacked 5.2 firmware

Ok i need to reflash my MS28 with a Original firmware but i don't have it anymore as my PC crashed on me.

It's currently running firmware 5.2D but due to over heating problem needs to be sent back to Microsoft for repair, i obviously don't want it send it back with a hacked firmware....so is there anyway i can make my Original firmware agaim from a dump of my current hacked firmware & a Original MS28 firmware i have off another drive ??

if you get the key from you hacked firmware and put it in another firmware file you got from a ms 28 i dont see a reason y it wont work.

Tried it, and it never worked.

I heard that once you upgrade above 4.2 your key is scrambled and is therefore not able to transfer into another original firmware.

Any help would be appreciated

Absolutely not true. If you have your hacked.bin that you flashed or if you dump it from your drive you can most certainly extract your key. Think about it - if a new firmware "scrambled" your key versus your original, how would the drive know how to read it?

You need to remember that you need to use the enable0800 disc or the bad flash method to dump your current firmware.

Absolutely not true. If you have your hacked.bin that you flashed or if you dump it from your drive you can most certainly extract your key. Think about it - if a new firmware "scrambled" your key versus your original, how would the drive know how to read it?

Ok this is how i did it

1 - Firstly i connected my 360 up to the PC and Samread my hacked firmware onto the HD
2 - I then booted into windows and opened 360 firmware toolbox
3 - Opened the hacked firmware and copied the key it shown me
4 - Opened a original 28 firmware and pasted my key & inserted
5 - Reflashed by drive with this new firmware

When i did this i can't load originals or copies, yet reflashing the hacked back on allows me to play both

Reading & flashing isn't a issue, that works flawlessly, it's making a working original firmware from my hacked that i seem to be having issue's with

Ok, try this. Download samtool v0.5 found here. Extract the archive to a directory that contains your working hacked.bin and the firmware you want to be orig.bin. Then, open a command prompt window, goto the directory containing samtool, hacked.bin, and orig.bin and type:

samtool hacked.bin orig.bin

This will copy your key section from your hacked.bin to your orig.bin. If it prompts you to copy your version strings, type 'Y'. Then, boot to dos again and flash the orig.bin to your drive (mtkflash w /m /sata orig.bin).
