I know that this question has been asked before, but I could not find the exact question I needed.

I understand that a Coolrunner can be reused on different consoles. But after performing an RGH, once freeBoot is installed on an Xbox, if you remove the Coolrunner to RGH another Xbox, will the Xbox still run freeBoot and homebrew without the Coolrunner, and will I have to then add the old JTAG hack to the motherboard (the jumper and the two resistors)?

yes it can always be reused, jus reflash it with whatever board ur doings timing files.however with no cr inside the rgh box it will no longer function, and jtag wires are only good for the jtag hack.

don't bother with any other chips, for the same price you could get an actual cool runner :)
What is the difference? Also could someone point me in the direction to get a USB Xilinx JTAG programming cable.

Thanks

As stated above...you can re-use the coolrunner chip as many times as you want. Just be sure you don't damage it during lifting if you are using the adhesive pad supplied with it.

As you know the coolrunner is required to glitch into the modified kernel so it will always need to be present. If you have a good soldering technique and patience when de-soldering the wiring from the board. You should be fine. However when lifting. Be careful not to apply force as it can rip up some traces/lift pads. That's the last thing you want to do. By the time you/professional repairs it. You would have been better off with a new coolrunner. They are inexpensive after all.

OP - the Coolrunner performs the timing glitch which is required to run the exploited hack on your console. Remove it and it won't boot until you put the stock NAND back on.

I thought this was obvious, but apparently not. To ask the question means you don't actually understand what you bought. Address *this* before doing anything else.

Why buy TX coolrunner, is simply because it's the best place you will get support from. And that is the same reason you came here for help.

I have not actually bought it yet, I was wondering whether I should by asking more about it. I initially thought that the Coolrunner was a temporary tool like a USB SPI NAND Reader, something to carry out the actual process. Obviously I was wrong, and I understand now. Thank you for all of your help.

But no one has addressed my final question:
Can I use the product I linked to, the Wiggler Buffered All In One JTAG Programmer - Version 2 to program the Coolrunner, or is there a USB Xilinx JTAG cable someone can link to so I can carry out the RGH.

Thank you.

What are you going to be using to read/write to the console?

buy the official tools and get the official support from here, using 3rd party cheap ass products will get you nowhere, and leave you in the middle of the road.

if you dont want to run around crying about no one can help you,buy the official hardware ...obviously no one can help because no one uses that 3rd party hardware here.
