Toothpaste has never worked for me ,Brasso works and the nail buffer block works a treat ,idk if it will work on a previously buffered disc ,but from my past experience I was almost always successful even with really badly chewed up discs ,when you done buffering put a few dabs of oil on a soft lint free cloth ,rub into the disc in a circular motion ,thereafter polish the disc with clean lint free cloth to remove the oil ,you should be left with a relatively shiny surface that if all went well will allow you to create a new back up.
What kind of oil

I think everyone who blindly accused you of being a pirate should at the least offer you some advice. Anywho, have you ever thought of just converting to rgh? That way you could just rip your game to hdd?

any kind will do I've used just ordinary cooking oil /olive oil ,you wiping it off afterwards ,its just to fill in the micro scratches. If someone else knows of a better alternative let them add to the knowledge base.
I will try the olive oil because that stuffs suppose to be good for your health right lol

More then once, i know mostly about flashing, and software hardware mod chips for other systems, but theres so much for RGH i hve no idea where to even start, and everyone is asking alot of questions about it, so it just weighs on trying to figure out where to start, i dont need anything fancy, its the kid's xbox, i only use it for a few games, i also have a slim which i would rather RGH, maybe do them both.. i haven played or used much of xbox in years, basically i only need it to boot games from an external hdd..

But giving helpful advise isn't as much fun as bashing someone without a probable cause. Logs weren't even asked for before the accusations started and not once were the words downloaded, torrent, borrowed from a friend or similar used. You know,,,,,, like the normal pirates do around here.

I'm no where perfect myself but atleast I apologize when I realize I made a misjudgment about someone.

If you want to boot games from a hdd/external hdd you will need RGH/JTAG/R-JTAG. This requires soldering modchips to your xbox. If you are uncomfortable with this, or want to save a bit of money(if you only do 1 system) I would suggest getting a pro to do it.

Do you also do car tires? I need 4 new ones, I'll pay your bus ticket...
If you buy me a bus ticket from Kansas City, MO to the Netherlands sure I'll change four tires for you.

if you dont want to take a rip of your original again and you arnt doing copies as stated in this thread you just want to do a new copy of your copy because its scratched etc , you can open imgburn and click read , simple , then burn a new copy and snap your old one

If you're close to a game re-seller they usually offer a refinishing service for ~$4. Discs come out looking new! I should know as I work for one in the midwest :)
