Hi ppl,

I already searched here and Google but to no avail, perhaps the case is somewhat unique :/

A 3.5" desktop HDD is connected to 360 via the cable from inside 360 hard drive case.

NXE formats the drive just fine (927gb free space), An offline profile is on it (Player1).

Problem is the drive cannot be accessed when connected to PC (direct SATA connection to mobo). Windows & diskmgmt.msc sees an uninitialized and unpartitioned drive.

The path of the newb is fraught with adversity, and possibly idiocy as well if this is something obvious :/

Thanks for any insight at all :)

To access the HDD on a PC you need to use explore360 tool. However there is an easier way to transfer files between your PC & 360. Just run xexmenu on the 360 and use an FTP client to connect to your console.

Use assigned IP address for the 360 and xbox for user name and password ...

So 360 uses a different file system, interesting.

However, FATX isn't the only problem. When a HDD is formatted by custom NXE 9199 (7371), only single partition 3 is created. Programs like xplorer360 still can't find the expected offsets for the other 3 partitions.

So non-official & non-cloned drives can't be explored using windows programs right?

Official 360 drives have 4 partitions. Partition 2 is created using HDD Compatibility Partition Fixer v1. But partitions 0 and 1 are still missing.

Partition 0 is Cache right? Its been relocated to partition 3 alongside Content?

Partition 1 for Game saves? and its the folder alongside 0000000000000000 right?

...curiosity killed the cat

there is a tool that sorts out the partitions, partition 2 is xbox emu etc, part. three is the one for user profiles cache game saves pretty much every thing, cant remember what part. one is for atm, most programs had issues when 60 and 120 gig official drives came out just reading part. 3.
make sure what program you get is right up to date.
