cannot get 5v led to light up.

i've spent the last 3 hours or so going through solder point after solder point to try and find why i can't get full power to the chip. i read the trobleshooting guide and it says check pin 6. the problem is i have a 1.6 mobo and pin 6 is taken out. does anyone have any idea why i'm not getting the 5v led to light up? i've also checked my alt 5v slot and its not working either.

ok i hooked up my dmm and i'm not getting any voltage from the 5v spot shown in the x3 install guide. another question is am i looking for dc or ac volts? the guide does not specify.

nvm i got it to work. it was actually the 3.3v that was giving the problem and it works fine now.

I have a XBOX 1.6 with X3 chip have not video I am useing a Monstor cable component hook up install went ok just no video all the other lights r ok but when i do the 256k setup by pressing the on buttion and the ejent nothing please help thanks

Philipo I thought your problem has to do with the flashbios build version. Do you get video when booting to the MS dash? I believe you have to use the standard AV pack until you flash the bios with the x3 bios or a newer flashbios version.

I believe they fixed this when going from 3.0.0 to 3.0.3.or w/e it is.

audi is right. you have to use the standard cables until you get the bios on there. i had the same problem.

question on drives

How do i know the version of my lite on drives ?

whether it is 74850c, 83850c, 83850c v2, 93450c ?

gotta open up the xbox and look at the label on top of the drive, to tell if you have a 8xxx v1 or v2 you need to try to dump the key using the 8info button (I forget the exact wording on the button) if it fails then you have a v2

if your xbox 360 is older than June 09 you got a mra xbox 360. If it is pre June 09 you got 7xxx or 8xxx v1. Later 8xxx V2 or 9xxx
