the xbox has a 83850c which wont read disks, so I got a new laser, still the same, so wasn't that, tried a new worm drive motor, still not read, spoofed a 74850c no good neither.
Am I missing something because when I first put a new laser in it it worked until the stupid little screw that holds the laser clip to worm drive come out, so I fixed all the with bigger screw, however it has not read a disk since.
thanks for any help, been messing with it for the last couple of days, missing tigers woods alot now

The trick I use for Hitachis that wont go into mode B is, restart your computer with it drive connected. Wait untill it takes to press of eject to open, the got to device manager on your comp, right click on cd drives and press search for hardware changes. It always finds the hitachi then(for me anyway). Then when you open jungle flasher you can do your flashing tasks striaght away.
