Description of problem: My problem is that I cannot boot into xell. I have been messing with all the dips and caps on the jtag qsb and such and cannot get anything. I can only get a green glitch light (lights up every 5 seconds) when it is on 1.2V, default and 1.8V produce no green light. Currently I have 7, 8, and 5 dips on, with AUD_clamp on the bottom enabled with the 470 cap on. I get the green glitch light but it either times out after several cycles giving be error 0010 or it just keeps going until I just turn it off. My only possible problem might be the little resistor that you must attach to the jtag qsb. I pulled it off but if you look close in the pictures you can see I have the resistor touching all 3 points it needs to (the two on the xbox board and one on the qsb). Currently I am using the alternate CPU_RST point, but I will try the default one now. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance.

Was the console working before you started: Yes

I don't think I can do that since I got the starter kit i only have the r-jtag chip and a nand-x. Unless you can do it with the nand-x i am not sure I do not have any special cords or anything. Thanks.

Without the J-R P v2 you're flying blind and almost impossible to tell whether your POST out soldering is good.

You've also 18 configurations to try on the chip, which you should be checking.

Do you mean the POST 0 to POST 7 circles on the qsb? I am not sure whats going on its not plugged in but everytime I measure it I am getting different results. Each time thouhg they all hover around the same number, 10K ohms, 40K ohms, but they all are roughly the same each time I measure.

And Martin, what exactly would those configurations be? What components would I be changing? If you could give me the first couple from the 18 I can figure out the pattern you dont have to list them all thanks.

Ok. It seems they are soldered ok. Check continuity down the ribbon.

Then start on the boat load of potential configurations there are.

By 18 configurations he means default voltage at dips 1 thru 6 then 1.2v dips 1 thru 6 then 1.8v dips 1 thru 6. It's all in the rjtag install guide have a read

Oh ok thanks I wasn't sure if those configurations included the options on the jtag qsb. I have AUD_CLAMP installed, so should I keep the jtag qsb at the 470 cap default for jaspers? Thanks I will start on the different configurations.

And I do not need the dvd drive connected while doing this right? Thus far I have been testing it out of the metal case and without the dvd drive connected. Do I need either of these while testing? I know it will mess with the pulse when tweaking but I don't think I have to worry about that right now. Thanks.

Aud_Clamp and the dvd drive do not affect the actual glitching of the console. I.E. Getting POST22

Aud_Clamp comes into play further down the line at POST2E.

Dvd Drive and case may affect fine tuning of your glitch times.

So no, they don't matter right now.

EDIT: But since you don't have a JRPv2, Aud_Clamp is now important because you cannot tell when the console is failing.

Check all your continuity there to make sure it is, in fact, accurate.

OK thanks everyone. I knew every xbox was different and everything but I did not realize you had to go through every combination until you found one that works. The first one that worked for me ended up being 1-7-8 ON, I will fine tune it once I get it back in the case but that was the first one and glitched pretty fast. Thanks everyone.

Whoa, I'd never seen a 1 timing before. To be honest, a jrpv2 would have greatly sped up the process.
