I successfully installed my x2.6 on a V1.1 xbox.

Flashbios comes up. I enable network flash and flashed bank 1 with X2-5032. Xbox shut down. All is well, right?

When I boot back up, Flashbios comes up again. What is going on? Can anyone help? I cannot get it to boot the X2 bios, it always boot flashbios.

by the way, I know I'm new to posting, but not new to modding.

Also, I flashed with 5032_vOld_512k.bin if it matters.

You cant just flash bank 1. You have to flash the whole chip. On bank one (with x2 bios maker it is banks 1&2) put flashBios, on bank 2 (with x2 bios maker it is banks 3&4) put 5032 (you have the correct version for your box). If you have already done so, then put the switch on the 2.6 to bank 2 and it should boot to that bios, switch it back to bank1 and flashbios again appears. That way you can flash it again when a new bios comes out.

Hawk 88,

The problem is, not matter which position I put the switch BANK1 (banks 1 and 2) or BANK2 (banks 3 and 4), all I get is Flashbios to boot.

I tried flashing both halves of the chip and it always just boots flashbios. Thought it was a bad chip, so I tried another 2.6 and same thing. Switch seems to work, since I can turn chip off with it and it boots the M$ bios.

Any other suggestions?

i did re-download 5032 (512k), thinking it was a bad download, but no luck.

I wish some people would just mind their own business if they don't know what they're talking about. You don't have to do what you're explaining - 5032 will go nicely onto bank 1 - it was only Evox M8 which needed this configuration.

Of course you can just flash bank 1 - that's why they're two separate banks. I'd always advise using a 512k BIOS with a 2.6 as once you start the flash procedure, it erases the bank selected. Select a 1MB BIOS and you'll wipe the entire chip prior to flashing.

What if you download X2 4983 and make it 512k? Can you flash this successfully? Have you ever tried to flash FlashBIOS to your chip?

Still no luck, it's like it's not flashing at all

Martin C,

I tried a custom 4981.67 that I have used on quite a few Xbox's. It is 512k. I set the switch to Bank 1 (1st 512k) and flashed. It shows it erasing, then flashing and turns xbox off. Again, no matter what bank I select afterwards, I get Flashbios 3.0.3.

It's as if it is not really erasing anything at all. I thought maybe the flash protect switch was backwards (I have it off), but when I turn it on, it will not let me flash.

Any other ideas? Was thinking of reflashing 3.0.3, maybe I got a bad copy of it on the chip. I'm not sure what else to do.

Sorry, God, I mean Martin,
I did not realize you could flash only one bank. I have always just flashed the whole thing, as I didnt know it was possible. I was only suggesting to keep FlashBios on one bank or another in order to have the ability to flash via http later on. It doesnt matter if it is on bank 1 or 2, although it did with M8.

dstmo,
does your xbox reboot after it flashes? Maybe it is not flashing correctly. You can also ftp the bios to c:\bios and try that, I beleive it is the second option on flashbios.

Can't move to c: drive as the box I bough to mod had a failed hdd. The new one I want to put in there is not yet formatted. I will try and burn a DVD with the bios on it first. If not, I will rip a hdd from a working xbox to try and flash that way as well.

This is REALLY WEIRD!!!!

I have never had an issue with a TeamX product.

OK, flashing it from DVD did not work either. It did show it erasing and flashing, then turned the power off, but when I turn it back on, I get Flashbios 3.0.3 on both switch settings.

Anyone else experience this and have an answer?

If you have this problem, check the switch

Turns out I replaced the switch, and it appears to now work.

I am not sure why the switch would keep it from flashing, especially when it showed the progress bar, but it did.

Much happier now, but I am a X2.6 switch short now (and yes, it was plugged in ALL the way)

Glad you got it sorted - my next suggestion was going to be the switch :)

Like I said, this is through lack of understanding. Sarcasm will get you nowhere. Your comment could easily be read by another 2.6 user and could have subsequently wiped his entire chip.

I suggest you keep reading.

That is exactly I did. Hey guys I'm new at this so be easy. After reading couple of post (not this thread) I misunderstood and I flashed 1mb 4981.67 (resized it) into bank 1 & 2. Now my network connection is gone. New bio seem to work since it has xecuter2 logo on the bottom of startup screen. I have 2.6CE with XBox 1.0. So what's my option? Do I need programmer to reflash the bios back to way it was and start from scratch? or can I burn cd/dvd to reflash. Is there way to get to bios setup menu like in pc?

You are never going to see a BIOS menu like on a PC. You are seeing everything fine - you just need to make a boot CD to get FTP access back. Either make one or download one. Search the forums for evoxbootcd.rar.

I need some help. I flashed the bios using a 1mb bios, with Flashbios3.01 and eVox. Now when I power on from bank 2, it goes to the Evox page, but then goes to the service required error 16 screen.

I installed a 2.6 xecuter chip on my 1.6 version xbox, and put in a larger harddrive.

I have read everything I can, and can't find out why this is happening... I am new at this... does the new hard drive have something to do with it?

Thanks so much!

It has everything to do with the new HDD!

Your clock has been reset and the XBox is trying to load the date/time portion of your MS Dashboard.

Here's what to do:

Replace HDD with stock.

Boot with chip disabled.

Set Date and Time where prompted.

Switch off (not unplug) Xbox and switch HDDs.

Try again.. If you have no other files on your HDD, you'll need to format and build it first. Read the tutorials for further help.
