I can only get video from 1959 bios. I have flashed 2913, 2914, 3029 which seems like a successful flash on either of the 1mb banks, but no video when restarting, only audio. I have been using 1959 for a few weeks without any problems.

Xbox 1.0
1959 bios banks 1-4
160gb Samsung
Avalaunch 0.49.3

Same problem, with 3029 i get garbed video, i think it is prompting me for a password and I never set one as this is a brand new box and chip. Also, with mine if I boot 1959 it boots with a purple background and prompts me for a password? Ive tried x3 erase to no avail? WEIRD!

in your case, it sounds like you need to reset your X3 eeprom. That should fix the problem. Do search on that and you will find the procedure to do it.

Same problem here... there's supposed to be an eeprom emergency erase built into the X3 bios since 2613 (hold down A+B+X+Y while booting) but that doesn't work for me. And you've already tried the X3 Erase... I'm stuck too!

I'm starting to wonder if it's my Xapter solderless install. I have three blue lights and everything seems kosher. I'm running out of possibilities

Does your eject LED flash orange when you boot into 1959? I wonder if that's a clue?

Yeah, I can't seem to be able to clear my eeprom no matter what I do. I am not using a solderless adapter so it can't be the problem? Who'd you get your chip from? I got mine from system-mods and they arent responding?

Mine's from Modchip.ca

Update: I had a friend 'in the know' burn me a DVD with the X3 eraser on it - still no luck. The disc won't boot. Maybe version 1.0's don't like DVD-R's?

I'm getting so tired of this.

"The default.xbe (x3_erase) app is to erase all settings from the X3 EEprom in case you forget your password
and lock yourself out of X3 Config Live. This does NOT reset your video settings as they are stored on your
Xbox EEprom and not the X3."

....from the official readme.

gotta reset the sucka

I bought the chip from modchip.ca and I have the same problem I flashed the x 3 with 3029 then the xbox would not stay on frag ....then I reflashed in back up mode with 1959 and no video or audio but the xbox stays on ..

In backup mode I get the 3.0.1 screen so whats up with that modchip.ca ... And I dont even bother with the switches anymore I disconected the switch panel from x3 chip so the panel in front does not light up if I connect it its blue with 1959 but no video or audio..With 3029 the xbox frags ...

Am to running a monster cable could that be a problem ..

HELL YEH....it worked....i installed the 3029 BIOS, got the blank screen. Then, I held down ABXY and fired up the box, the front led started alternating between red and green, did that around 3 times and then the box shut off. I turned it back on, and to my surprise, I COULD SEE THE DAMN XBOX animation. Never have I been this happy to see that #$#$#en thing. Now everything's cool. I'm a n00b to the scene and this is my first ever mod. I am extermely dissapointed in modchip.ca as they could'nt point this simple solutoin out. Oh well. I just hope this helps other people with a 1.6 box and can't get the x3ce to work. Thank you everybody for their help.
