For some reason I cannot load to my backup FlashBIOS.

I have an Xecuter 3 with solderless adapter on an xbox 1.6b.

I am having trouble flashing my BIOS and need to boot to the backup, but have never been able to do so. I could previously boot to the FlashBIOS 3.03, so I believe the modchip is installed OK.

When I push the power and eject buttons the X3 logo on teh external switch is purple as it is supposed to be, but I cannot get a flashbios screen - the screen is just blank. The xbox light is green, but the screen is blank.

Please help. I have searched but not found anything helpful.

The chip ships with FlashBios 3.01 in the backup bank which is incompatible with a 1.6b version mobo. What happens when you try to boot from the bios you flashed?? and what banks did you flash it to?? The chip should have FlashBios 3.03 in bank 2 Off-On-Off-Off unless you tried to flash your bios into that bank.

Originally, I could only flash from bank 5/6 into FlashBIOS 3.03. I then loaded XBIOS 3294 16 to the first bank and it seemed to flash fine. Now, when I try to boot to the flashed bios the xbox turns on, then turns off real quick. While trying to figure it out I flashed the 5-8 banks and now I cannot boot to that either.

I guess I need a programmer now. When I get it figured out, I'll load a different flash bios to the backup bank - it's not backin' me up at all!

On the Divineo website it says in recent news and on the Spider programmer page that the Spider programmer can program many other, non-spider modchips, including the Xecuter 3.

If this is the case, I stand corrected...anyways, I checked the site that you mentioned and found out that you're right. A programmer would be a great help and hopefully we'll hear from you after trying that programmer...
