Cannot load 3294 on 1 mb bank

I believe I messed up but here is what happened. I read somewhere to install the 3294 v16plus onto banks 5-6-7-8, did that and it was freezing while flashing. The green bar would go about 3/4 of the way and stop.

I then tried 1-2-3-4 for what reason I have no idea, maybe hoping something different would happen? Now the problem is in both those banks I cannot load 3294 it just hangs up mid way through the flash. I loaded a evox 256k bios onto to chip so I know the switch works. Any idea's why the 1 mb banks aren't working?

I have the X3ce chip and I believe I have V1.6 but I am not entirely sure....I have yet to find a good explination on finding the right version of mine. It says it was produced march 2004.

Its sounds like you did not have your banks configured properly for flashing if the flash hung. It usually happens when yo try to flash into too small of a bank. To flash to banks 1-2-3-4 your switches need to be set to On-On-Off-Off to flash to banks 5-6-7-8 your switches need to be set to Off-On-Off-Off.

More than likely you can no longer use FlashBios from either bank. Boot your box up from the backup FlashBios by pressing the eject and power buttons together and then configure your switches as noted above to flash 3294 v16plus into one of your 1MB banks.

ok i tried both those banks with those correct settings. Now in order to flash to those do I need to set the switches to something else to boot up in? Like boot into a 256K and then set the switches to a 1 mb bank and then upload?

I loaded in a 256K evox bios no problem. But for those 2 banks 1-2-3-4 and 5-6-7-8 it seems to hang. I will also try re-downloading the bios 3294 v16plus again and see if that might be the problem

Nothing seems to be working. My question is this...if it fails to load the 3294 v16plust into the 1 mb bank...why is the file only 256K?


I seem to be missing something or something is just not working...I am trying to load them into a 1 mb bank? I just don't get it, they just keep freezing mid flash

For some reason my bios always said Flashbios V3.0.0 even my backup reads that on both 1-2-3-4 and 5-6-7-8

Any help?

Something very weird to ponder...ok set my switches to on on off off for banks 1-2-3-4. Would stall flash

remove plugs from front panel to allow for default load of 1-2-3-4 banks and flashes fine. Reinstall plugs and boots up with lights and all with the switches set to off off off off. If I set switches to on on off off xbox frags.

Oh well now to figure out how to run more than 1 dashboard. Slowly making progress.

**Note to mods** if someone is having trouble tell them to disconnect the front panel. I am starting to think my front panel is defective

okay so is the X3_3294v16plus bios 1 meg in size? im assuming so. i have not used this bios yet im currently running 1959 which works great. try this, set your banks to -on-on-off-off-off-, then launch the back-up 256k bios on the chip (holding power+eject). from there flash the chip with the X3_3294v16plus. if this doesnt work i suggest trying a diff bios. if you need a hook up with a 1959 1.6 version pm me. and so what about running multiple dashboards?

quality control where did u find the new bios, x3_3294v16plus, ive been looking and looking and looking but nowhere to be found.........ive even looked through xbins still not there...please help....
