GENERAL Cannot Play Gears Of War 3 Backup

i have just flashed my firmware now to LT+2.0, my dashboard is 13599 but for some reason i cant seem to play my backup of gears of war 3

the screen goes black then goes back to PLAY GAME screen
gears of war 3 picture has NOT appeared, it just says play game

I'm using VERBATIM dual layer discs

and im using the latest imageburn

Check your Keys sounds like it's passing the initial disc check but failing the real time check when you try to play the game.

what do you mean check keys?

ive just used another disc now and the same thing happened again, perhaps xbc hasn't read it properly?

Either that or you need to save the game to your HDD and just use the backup for verification purposes :wink:

Lots of peeps have reported this and there is a thread about it :cool2:

I'm not so sure that XGD3 only verifies in the beginning. I have GoW3 installed on the hdd and i hear ofter the drive reading the disc during gameplay.

First check to see if a non XGD3 works if it fails its your keys. If the non XGD3 works it's your burn.

what it sounds like is that you did not flash your box with LT 2.0.

i did this today and if you let JF auto load LT for yaa it loaded the old one not the new 2.0, you had to do it manually, Manual Spoofing select the 2.0 firmware and make sure the dvd key is correct otherwise spoof source

its a burnning issue
just follow the tutos to burn this game
and even do the imgburn says OH NO at the end of burnning
it worked for me
i wish its going to help

It's not your keys. When you have the wrong keys, it will say "Play DVD" and will display the dreaded "Please insert this game into a XBOX360 Console" message.

You have your keys right, my guess would be you did not correctly flash it to LT2.0, or it's a bad burn...

You could also try tweaking your laser.

You are wrong Jagon. That only holds true if you did not have LT2.0 and testing with a GXD3 game. I know for a fact even if younhave wrong keys you will still get Play game if on firmware LT2.0 with a XGD3 game in the drive.

I am not saying that is his problem just saying you need to be aware that the Play DVD/Play Game error display rules have changed if on LT 2.0 + XGD3.

This happened to me.
I was using the wrong firmware.
I don't flash my son's xbox very often so when it comes time to do it I have to relearn how to do it.
The question for me was which firmware?
I wanted 1 firmware but there are 45 firmwares in the folder :(
My drive is a Lite-on 83850C version 1 so when I saw LTPlus-838v1.1.bin I used it.
This was wrong.
The firmware that worked for my Lite-on is LTPlus-025-v2.0.bin
Now I know that you top guys will think I'm thick as fxck, but I would not be surprised if this is happening to some other guys who get confused by the amount of firmwares there are in the firmware folder.
Now I am up and running I'm very happy and would like to thank everyone involved in the creation of this firmware.

Hello, I also have a problem with my Gears Of War 3. I couldnt installed the game to harddrive for some reason, when it reaches 46% the reading stop and it said my cd is dirty or have some scratches please try again. However, I still can play the game ok, I prefer to play game from HD because the cd reading so loud. Any Idea?

i also have black screen on GOW3.though my console does have the play gears of war 3 and picture on dash.it goes thru initial load,then just after gow3 screen it goes black and freezes the xbox.i can eject disc,but need to reset console.then tried blackops(retail)and it works fine.any ideas

I Think this might be my problem, how can i flash again my xbox?
I simply follow the same steps as before?
