Cannot select FlashBIOS option

I just completed the installation of X3CE onto v1.6 xbox. The FlashBIOS screen comes up, but I cannot select the option I want to use for flashing.
The cursor just does not moves up and down. There is no problem w/ the controller. (It works when booted into MS dash).
One more thing I puzzled w/ is in backup mode (power + eject) the screen is blank.

Which option are you trying to use? Also make sure that you actually pluged the controller adapter back to the motherboard after you finished installing the x3. Might even try different controller ports.

Tried all ports, alaready. Stiil cannot select anything.
The default (1st option) is Network and this is exactly what I want to use,
but "select" has no effect. Screen stays on FlashBios 1st screen.

I just got a hold of 2nd controller and ther is no problem.
What the hell could it be, then? Origanal controller refuses to work w/ X3 boot bios?

Use a dvd dongle then it will work.

no go. my 2nd controller works w/ and w/o dvd donge.

load up the flash bios and unplug and replugin the controller. this happened to me and it worked
