Can't Boot to Backup Bios

Hi, I'm a Super-Noob and I've just finished installing an Xecuter 3 in a 1.6b box. Install seemed to go fine....until now. With the "chip disabled" by pressing the power button, the XBox works fine. No issues at all. But if I "tap" the power button, the box powers up/down/up/down/up/down every second or so.

So, after some ascertaining, I figure it's the Cromwell bios. From what I hear, it's gotta be 3.0.3+. My guess is it's not. I talk to the dealer, he says they pre-flashed the 3.0.3, but he doesn't know if it's in the backup bios, or bank 8.

So, I try bank 8, same power on/off every second. Then I try the backup bios, from what I read, you "tap" the power and eject at the same time. Nothing at all happens. No lights, sound....nothing. I may as well be tapping on my oven 'cause it has the same effect.

Shouldn't it be booting to the backup bios? Anyone have any hints?

Thanks...

Well, apparently I'm as stupid as I look. I missed soldering the back side of PIN 7 to the motherboard. And even worse, it was pointed out to me by my girlfriend...."Why is THIS ONE gold on one side when all the others are silver?"

Oh well, live and learn. Once I soldered this point everything works great. Boots normally now. And waddya know, they DID flash 3.0.3 to bank 8.

Thanks,
