Can't Boot when chip disabled

Hi all,

I have installed my chip/flashed etc. it all works fine except for one thing. When I press and hold (to disable chip) I get a service error with no number.

So when I boot to chip, it works. Play games from DVD and HD.

When I boot to chip and then select 'go to M$ dash', that works too. I get to the m$ dash (meaning the m$ dash must be still there and correct, right?). I can change my setting etc. No problem.

But I cannot boot direct to m$ dash with chip disabled. I have checked the HD is locked and it is. The above point proves m$ is installed correctly. So what else could it be? Could damage to D0 cause this behaviour?

I have tried the 'press and hold' method of disabling and also the 'reboot with chip disabled' option from x3 live.

I have x3 installed in v1, bios 1959, and evox dash 3935, xlcd.

Check your pwr/reset pcb for bent pins on the red wire at both ends, meaning at the pcb and the x3. Also check the pcb for any solder bridges or splashes on the backside under the sticky tape.

Yes - Your HD needs to be locked to get into the MS Dash.
