Can't Boot with 3.3V source connected.

I figured out my problem to be the 3.3V connection. I have a 1.6 XBOX with the X3 mod. The system will only boot up when the X3 is not conneted to the 3.3V source. I removed pin 15 (I still have pin 9 soldered in but not connected to pin 15 hole). I am lost as to the cause of this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Even if my solder joints were bad (not mis-soldered), shouldn't the XBOX still boot normally?

I also have a problem with the red power/eject cable. When the X3 is not on the pin-header but all the cables plugged into it, I have to remove the red cable to turn the XBOX off. Is there a link to this problem and my other problem?
