I have a ver. 1.4 x-box and I just installed the X3 chip. When I press the power button once it starts with the X3 bios I uploaded using Flash Bios with a blue color but when I press down the chip for a while, I go back to Flash Bios with a purple color and the DVD drive automatically opens. I can't seem to get the red color so I can turn the chip off. When I press the eject button to close the DVD drive, it closes and automatically turns off the xbox - this happens in all of the above senarios. Please help!!!!
Thank you!

Sounds like you have your red power/eject cable incorrectly connected.

Hold down the eject button and see if the Xbox boots with the chip off....

sorry, I read your reply wrong, - it boots fine without the chip on but I checked the power/eject cable and the board- and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it - even the soldered points on the power-eject board. Please help!!!

yeah, I think it's the board that's added to the swich, when I took it off, the xbox worked fine without the chip. What should I do to fix it? again i checked the connections and the soldering points and they seem to be fine.

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong

I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with burning my games. I unrar, get the iso file, burn at the lowest speed and i get an error and the disc pops out every time.

My burner says DVD+RW DL so I'm assuming that means I can write dual layers, but other than me being wrong I just can't figure it out. Not only did I have someone show me what to do but I've also read a bunch of tutorials and as far as I can tell I'm doing this right. I've tried with CloneCD, Alcohol 120%, and Magic ISO. I really don't feel like wasting another disc.

I never have problems with pc games but I'm new to burning xbox games.

The absolute only thing I can think of is I'm not using Verbatim discs but a buddy of mine says he just uses Fuji and Memorex and has never had a problem so I just have no idea, if anyone can help me out or point me in the direction of a super detailed guide that would be great.

May be a stupid question but: Is your Xbox 360 console flashed?

It is flashed, however that shouldn't effect whether I can burn the disc on my computer or not lol.

Re: Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong

What DVD burner are you using?
Have you tried using IMGBurn?

A few tips to consider:

Make sure you have the most up to date drivers.
Make sure the firmware on your DL Burner is up to date.
Preferable use the primary onboard SATA port on your motherboard.

Ok it worked, thanks Farly. I almost thought I screwed it up though because it finished and i got some message saying to put the tray back in and hit ok, i did this with the disc in thinking maybe since the disc is dual layer it has to write twice or something, then it started trying to burn it again and succeeded for a bit before getting an error. Seems to be working fine though. Thanks again for the program name, worked like a charm.

No problem bud.

I think that IMGBurn was wanting to perform a 'verify' on the disc, which is not really needed and takes to long - May be more useful now though that LT doesn't check discs before booting them. Personally I can't be arsed to do it

You can turn it off in the settings, and I also have the 'eject tray once complete' box ticked aswell so the PC doesn't then try to run the disc just burned!
