Cant disable Flash Protection

I just installed the chip today and everything seems to be working fine. but when i turn it on it shows the "read only...." telling me that the flash protection is on. I've checked both the internal switch and the external switch but still cant get it to turn off. Any suggestions?

unplug the X3 control panel switch cable at the chip end and flash without the cable attached. If it still occurs and you are sure the switch on the chip is not on flash protect, then I would say your chip's flash protection switch is faulty.

ive done this...anyone else have any ideas? how would i go about getting my chip replaced or do i just have to buy a new one?

If you need a replacement chip, take it back where you got it.
