Hi guys,

i finally got the probe v3 in the post yesterday, decided to flash my drive this evening.

But no success.

I am following the tutorial, I get the drive recognised in jungleflasher, click on PhatKey, click Yes, I then push the button of the probe down (LED goes out), put the probe firmly down on the point, let switch back up....then PhatKey fails pops up!

Then the drive fails to recognise in Jf and I have to restart my PC again. Then JF recognises it once again, but same thing happens.

But I decided to use the method of turning off my CK3 Pro, instead of the switch, then time I actually do get the box of 'Extraction Complete!', I then remove the probe, turn of the CK3, wait 5 seconds, turn back on....then it says Phat key fails!

I have tried this numerous times with same result.

Note I am using a VIA sata card, with CK3 pro and probe 3.

here is my JF log:

no you don't need to put drive in vendor mode to get the key hope you did not hit lite-on erase

How to use

1) Drive on
2) Click Phat key, click yes
3) Cut 3.3v line (press button), probe MPX01, join 3.3v line (release button)
4) When extraction is complete, instead of removing probe and recycling power just remove probe and cut 3.3v line for a couple of seconds, i.e. I just hold the button down for a couple of secs.
5) Click OK.

No i didnt go near erase.

Actually the drive is susposed to return with the status of 0x52 which is good.

But apparently you are susposed to lift the probe off the point straight away and then the box of extract complete comes up. But i wasnt lifting the probe, i was keeping it in contact until i saw the extract box pop up.

I suppose this is what i am doing wrong?

---------- Post added at 23:26 ---------- Previous post was at 23:22 ----------

For some reason my via card messes up when i use the 3.3v button the probe. I cant get the drive to return status 0x52, but i can if i cycle the power using the ck3 pro itself.

Honestly Yes, it will make things easier.
ok, but why isn't my VIA card the issue? I mean I can recognise the drive and send commands to it....it should be working.

Let me summarise what is happening for me:

1. Load Jungleflasher
2. Select DVDKey 32 tab
3. Find drive (key is not verified, says dvd key not found under drive properties, i presume this is normal?)
4. Click on Phat Key
5. Click Ok
6. Quickly press the button the probe 3 cable and hold it down, light goes out on probe.
7. Place probe on point firmly.
8. Release switch, light back on...instantly gets drive key failed message.

I do this all over again, except at stage 6.
6. Turn off CK3 pro, connect up probe to point.
7. turn on CK3 Pro again, get drive status 0x52 in log below.
8. I release probe and wait for message to appear, it does take it most of 10 seconds (so not as fast as it should be)
9. The extact complete is now up, I turn off drive again using CK3 pro, wait 5 seconds, turn back on...click Ok....then say drive key extraction fails.

Now I also even repeat this, except at stage 8, I keep the probe held down on point until message of extract complete pops up. Same result.

WTF is happening?! why isnt it working? I am following the tutorial, I am using slightly varied approaches due to some of the reading I have done on this forum, nothing works.

I am so annoyed and disappointed. Getting a x360usb pro will mean I will have to wait yet another week and a bit for it to come from the UK. I firmly believe buying one wont help me, my VIA card should be working. :(

Look I know there is something wrong, for instance when I follow the tutorial exactly, which involves using the switch on the probe, I get a key extraction fail message straight away.

here is a sample log:

i'll tell you whats wrong .. if you have a cable with a switch that switch = on/off power so why are you powering off the ck3 pro

I do this all over again, except at stage 6.
6. Turn off CK3 pro, connect up probe to point.
7. turn on CK3 Pro again, get drive status 0x52 in log below.

HTML:
Drive extraction failed
=======================

Power the drive/load JungleFlasher/DVDKey 32 /click PhatKey/click Yes/Push
switch in = probe OFF/probe MPX01/Release switch = probe ON/remove probe/
switch in = probe OFF/count to 5/Release switch = probe ON/Press OK/Extract Complete

Are your via card drivers properly removed?

Check device manager,to ensure the drivers were removed.

Been awhile, but doesnt a screen pop up if you correctly probed it
Ie: Remove probe and power cycle? Something on those lines.

Sounds like user error to me if drivers are installed correctly.

Hi,

Yes I am doing what you are saying. please re-read my post.
EDIT: sorry, I mean please read a post i made on the previous page, where I discuss using the various methods
I said I used the on/off switch on the probe lead and if fails extraction (I do not switch off the ck3 for this process)

however, I have also tried the process of turning the ck3 off and on instead of using the switch on the probe lead and yes I get the status 0x52 in the log, I get the extract key success dialog box, I then turn off the ck3 once again and wait 5 seconds, turn back on, click OK and this it says phat key extraction failed.
