hello all,

I have an 1.6 box (I followed the instructions on the link to check the version) with Xecuter3.

some inconsistancies in bio flashing and booting the box...

I have a router. The dhcp will assign an IP but I can't connect via http (it takes couple of minutes, then PAGE NOT FOUND).
The other time when it boot up, it will not grab an IP.

Flashing from CD - it will not read the 3 CD-R I made (Taiyo Yuden and another brand -I followed the Nero instruction to burn it and rename the new bio to bios.bin). ps. what is the dummy.bin file? I downloaded the latest bios, and it didn't have that file in the rar archive.

half of the time when booting (power button only), the xecuter X3 logo light is RED
holding down the both button will turn the PURPLE back to BLUE, then powering down and rebooting will be BLUE again.
holding down both button will give me the AMBER, most of the time, except the above

Any pointers... thank you...

ps. I have the X3CP.

ok -what IP address are you getting back? Is the same one each time?

CD-R are no good for BIOS disks - work with HTTP for now. Much more reliable.

Check your d0 soldering (on the rebuild) as you may have a short causing the Xbox to behave erratically. Remember it's a very quick press of the power button to boot enabled.

Hi Martin,

I am getting a different IP each time. 192.168.1.50, then 192.168.1.49...
But it will not get an IP all the time.

I have dvd-r burner too, but I thought cd-r will do. I can try that tonight.

I did resoldered couple of times and one broken LCD trace. So there might be a short somewhere... as long as it is not in the X3 chip

thanks.

I have 3 light s on the X3 Chip, one green on the left and 2 red on top? Is this right?

the bio protect swith sticks out on top, not on he board like in the tutorial.

You have the X3CE - you should have two blue/green and one red LED.

DVD-R will work much better. As for the dummy file, just rename any file over 50MB to 1dummy.bin and add it to the BIOS disk.

UPDATE: I was able to Flash with the latest bios. I used a CD-RW.

Still unable to ftp or ping it, but that is another subject. I will figure it out.

Martin C, Thank you!!
