LITEON DG-16D2S Can't flash Liteon's anymore?

So I have a CK3 Mini and a VIA card. I have been flashing liteon's for months with no problems whatsoever.

Since a couple weeks ago though it will no longer get the key for liteon's. I don't know what happened. The setup currently works for every single other drive there is for phat xbox's.

I have the probe 3, and go through the process that has worked for 100's of xbox's, except now all it will say is phatkey failed, because it wasn't verified.

Literally NOTHING has changed! I have another PC with a built in sata that works for flashing, and it won't flash liteon's anymore also.

I tried another liteon that is confirmed working. I tried a different probe 3. I tried it with a spare xbox powering the drive. I tried with and without VIA drivers, and I tried with onboard sata and VIA.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?? Thanks


EDIT:

In case it helps, here's the methods I tried for getting the key:

1) Follow exactly as the prompts tell you, powering off with the probe instead of the CK3 except for when the extraction is complete

2) Power off probe, put on mpx, power on, THEN press OK to the prompt telling you to do this. Tells you immediately that port XXX was found. Then power off CK3 for 1 second for extraction

3) Put probe on MPX while powered on, power off and on quickly, press ok to first prompt. Then power off for 4 seconds and back on with CK3 at last prompt

Well I had tried reinstalling Windows thinking that was the problem, so it's blank right now

Yeah, most that I have done in a while have been 0251. Even though my current setup won't let me get keys anymore I have flashed one of my drives to the old firmware and it still won't work.

Since literally nothing had changed on my end, it must be an act of God or something.

hi i had the same prob i changed the sata cable and it worked fine just a thort are u probing the right point not saying u are wrong but we all are human bud

This seems a bit extreme.

I just re-flashed a fully updated Lite-On console a few days back with no issue. I would go with Martin and guess it would be an issue with the probe.

I'm pretty sure the probe isn't at fault because I went ahead and hacked up a drive power cable into one.

Power switch on pin 6, probe on pin 5.

With the homemade probe it still doesn't work =[

Yeah tried both ports on the VIA, and the only port on the on board that works(sata 0)

and yes the liteon(s) eject perfectly

I have been probing the mpx01 spot, the exact one in the guide.

But just as quickly as it stopped working, it started working again out of nowhere.

For about 3 weeks I was unable to grab the key off of liteons, even though NOTHING had changed. Now, NOTHING has changed again and I am suddenly able to grab the keys again.

Huh, what a strange world

The only logical explanation for this issue is that it must have been the anti-piracy gods. LOL
Glad you got it working again
