Cant flash my 2.6CE!!

Damn it! Every time I try to flash my 2.6ce it always says "illegal size, NOT flashed".
Have tried lots of different things, all switches are correct. Attempting to flash by http.
Tried to flash EvolutionX, same message...
Any ideas anyone?? Fitted the chip no problem, but now im beat!! I admit it!!
Please help.

I have already got a 512kb bios off xbins, ans xecuter one, that says "xecuter2" below the xbox logo on startup, then nothing happens, just starts game or goes to xbox dashboard.
How do I get the EvolutionX dashboard onto my Xbox if the rar files for it are as high as 2 mb?
Im real crap at this, and Scottish so my problem solving skills are non existent, so keep it simple my friend!

I'm assuming this is a new install. What has probably happened is that you flashed an X2CL BIOS to the chip (which is good) but it doesn't have a mod dashboard to look for. You'll need to create a boot disc (check Xbox-Scene for directions) and install a dashboard such as EvolutionX, UnleashX, Avalaunch...). You'll then probably want to change up and add the x2config.ini file on the E drive, I'd recommend using X2 Config Maker available at http://www.x-projects.org/.

BTW (since it doesn't look like you are clear on this...) RAR files are archives, like ZIP files on PC or StuffIt files on Mac. You'll want a utility like WinRAR or ZipGenius that can decompress them.

It looks like you're trying to flash the EvolutionX dashboard on your chip that's why worried about the 2mb file size, The EvolutionX dashboard files goes to your hard drive and not on the chip's bank. Actually, if you see the "xecuter 2" message below the xbox logo during start up, that means you already have a xecuter 2 bios on your chip (probably a x2_4983).

As for the dashboard, you can use the Slayer's Evox 2.6 Auto installer, burn it on a cd-rw or a dvd-r and boot with it.

Have tried to make a cd with Slayer's 2.6 Auto installer. for evox. But the xbox is not recognizing the disc. Does anybody know where im going wrong?

Do you know what model of DVD drive is in your Xbox? The drives can be picky regarding what media and burn methods are used. Check Xbox-Scene for info, I believe they have details regarding how to identify your drive and what media work best.

You'll probably get best results across the board using DVD-R and burning at a slow speed. If you have Slayer's as an ISO file make sure you are telling your burn software to "burn from image" and are not just dropping the file onto a data-formatted disc.

Have got a samsung drive in my xbox.
Managed to burn evox onto disk and boot it but it wont go onto hard drive so can use it without the disc in?!
When booted up there are 4 options = MS Dashboard, Reeboot, Network, Hardisk.
What the heck am I doing wrong man! The 12 year old up the street was on halo2 in custom game with us the other day with a modded lockout game! BR was full auto and stuff! if he can do it why cant I!!!
2 frustrated for thiss man!!!
