I have a v1.2 w/250gb hdd, I installed a Xapt3r and X3 chip. Everytime I try to flash it all it does is hang on the flashing executer screen, no yellow bar no green bar but the power switch flashes amber and green like it's suppose to. I've spent the last 2 weeks reading threads and found some of the same problems but no resolution. The X3 chip has FlashBIOS 3.0.0 on it. I've tried to flash by CD,DVD and HTTP, none of them work. When I try HTTP it will sit there forever and do nothing until you press the power or eject button and the yellow erase bar will go up, sometimes it'll only go 3/4 of the way and shut down sometimes if you press it quick it'll go all the way up and say programming failed. I've tried to flash with every BIOS from X3 1943 -1959 and some X2 BIOS. I've tried to disconnect the switch panel to only flash the first meg. I've tried to flash the secong meg. no luck, the flash protect is in the off position. I know everyone recommends soldering but this is the first problem I've ever had with an adapter. My other XBox is a v1.0 w/2.3 lite w/250 gb HDD, and it works fine. I also did 2 others v1.2 and 1.5 w/2.6 lite and 250 gb HDD. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You All

Well ... start with the basics ....

You have BLUE LED's on the X3 I imagine ,as you are getting the FlashBIOS Screen ?

You have a BLUE 'X' on the switch panel.

The flash protect on the X3 is OFF.

The Flash protect on the switch panel is OFF.

Use the 1959 BIOS - is it a .BIN file? is it exactly 1024kb? - Download it again just to be sure.

Use the http:// flash method. Put the switches in the on,on,off, off, off position and try it again. Turn the 'box back on with the switches in the same positions.

Yes all of the LED's are on the blue X is on, Both flash protect switches are off and the BIOS is 1959 in .BIN format and 1024K. I've downlaoded it 3 times now just in case it is a bad file. The switches are on, on, off, off, off. I left the file name the same and didn't change it to Bios.bin. I feel that I've done everything right over and over again but I feel that I'm missing something. I've left the bank switches in the same position I've changed them to off, on, off, off, off to no avail.

Thank You

Try disconnecting the switches from the x3 itself and flashing again. I.e. remove the black wire that goes to the switches from the x3chip.

Well I sent and email to the retailer and no reponse. Being I took my time to do some research and try to fix it myself they say on the invoice that they won't take anything back after 6 days, so I'm stuck with a bad chip and no way to fix or use it. Does anyone have the name of a good reputable retailer to use in the USA?
