SAMSUNG MS28 cant get drive to open/close

First off i have the X360USB Pro and the CK3i

The drive had LT1.1 on it and we wanted to goto 2.01

It went into vendor mode and we did all the required stuff with tray half open and when we clicked on write it went through i believe 4 write process then we got an error that it failed to write.

since we got that error we have been unable to open/close the drive

Also it didnt recognize the drive in JF anymore but we did the steps in the bad flash guide that is on here with the probe and got into vendor mode, but still cant get it to do anything.

even tried using dosflash

any one have any ideas or is the drive dead?

when you did the half tray method did you intro device id then power cycle

ya i tried on another pc and i did try the power cycle..

I just tried again and it got through the write process but failed at the end of the write verify process..

when you went to flash to lt2.01did you use sammy unlock are go straight to half tray method

well my buddy did it and i think he went right for the sammy unlock and i think he clicked yes and now im trying to fix this one for him.

I ve never had an issue with a sammy until now

this might sound weird but give it a try. sometimes with samsung drives i have problems on my pc or if they have been spoofed or not. so i have to use my other pc with the sata port directly to the mainboard without using a x360usb and it works. but make sure that your chipset is even able to flash 360s in the first place. i dont think itll hurt to try.

sammys can be a real pain this way,have you tryed closeing everthing down and disconnecting then try again when you get it to vendor mode is giving good flash properties can you post your jungleflasher log as the above says try that i had a sammy once said ms28 on the case but it was a ms25

ive tried on my via card as well.. my mobo only will detect the hitachis, but i will try on my parents computer as that can handle the drive connect right to the mobo.

when in vendor mode try click read auto load fw then write are once in vendor mode hit outro to see if it detects your drive if it does then try sammy unlock

so when i click read it goes through and reads it. allows me to save but it wont aluto load any info to the firmware 32 tab at all

have you any frimware loaded before you read keep frimware32 blank then read, try put it in vendor mode then outro to see if it detects your drive

ive kept the firmware blank.. when i click on outro it just says no drive detected

its stubborn one if nothing works i would just get another samsung drive you have your key saved

ya.. he plays it off line so im trying a hitachi drive that was just laying around but having some issues with it trying to get to open and close

opens and closes fine when using the CK3i but when in the console it opens as soon as i turn on the xbox and then 1 out of 15 times when trying to close i will finally close and play a game.

just ordered a sammy off ebay now

all is good.. i thought i had tried a different one already but i guess i didnt and it worked..
