Cant get Flash to work

Hey

I got a X3 a couple of days ago and tired to flash it with the X3 1957 BIOS. Everything seemed to go ok turn the Box on booted fine but when it got to the bit where it says "Xecuter Rox My Box" it hangs and does nothing. Flashed it with the "evox m8" and it worked first time. Any ideas how i can get it to work with the X3 bios

What model xbox have you got.
Sure you flashed with correct bios if M8 works sounds like you got a 1.6 xbox check which 1957 bios you flashed it with If 1.6 you need 1957 v16

I have a 1.0 xbox

m8 can be for both.. not just 1.6 and he has a 1.0 so you are wrong just go into back-up mode try and flash again and if that dont work try an older bios

Tried an old one all ready cant remember the name but it was the one i had on file. I though that the older one could have been the problem so i used the newer one but same problem

The M8 did not work with my xbox had to use M7 Bios

I have the same problem. I have a v1.6. (NOT v1.6b)
I havn't tried any other BIOS yet, but it might be my only option
soon. By the way, do you also have problem with the external
dip switch panel? By XBOX is completly dead if I have it attached.
The blue led will flash on the chip when I press the power or eject button but it will not boot at all. (No fan spinning or HD power-up)
Without the panel everything seems to work. I can boot up the Backup FlashBIOS v3.00 and boot into the MSDASH. When I try to boot the X3 it hangs when the "Rocks my box" splash is displayed. I've tried to press
all kinds of keys on my controller, but nothing happens. I'm feeling a bit stuck.. I'm also using the original ms hd. I've tried to flash the X3 1959_v16 3 times using the http method described, and I get the same result every time.
The flashing completes and the xbox shuts down as described, but the X3 stalls... Please help!!

I would try downloading the x1959 from Xbins again and trying to flash again cause it sounds like the file may be corrupt. Just a thought.

I would make sure all your connections are correct if there is a problem when the switch is connected.

i have found it hangs there when either the flash is corrupted (i.e. re flash again - maybe to another 1mb area)

Finally!

I got mine to work. I just reflashed it (again) with the http method.
Now it boots up into the X3 Config Live. I don't understand why this
happened. The 1959 Bios was flashed successfully every time before, but
it didn't work. Somehow it worked this time. I don't think I will ever
flash it again

I just remembered something....

The last time I flashed it, I did it with a crossover cable from the x-box to
my laptop. The times before when the BIOS didn't work i used a switch/11g access point. Maybe this will help you? It's worth a try anyway.

samsung to hitachi or benQ

I have a 360 with a smasung ms 28 that has a broken spindel. I have an hitachi and a benQ dvd drives from tw other broken 360's. I would like to know if there is a way to make either the hitachi or the benQ work, and how to get the key from the samsung onto one of these drives. I need detailed tutorial as im not that familiar with flashing, but already have the xbox apart, and some of the tools needed to flash. slax2.1, iprep, fw toolbox, keydrive extractor. I need help with detailed steps, not good with DOS but familiar with linux. help please!!!

Use JungleFlasher and I'd use the BenQ cuz it's a better drive in my opinion...
