Cant get into mode b

Ok today i tried flashing the xbox and i used the slax cd method to get it into mode b.

Followed instructions and powered up at same time etc.

But it never came up saying spinning up disc etc, just ran through a lot of text. then left me at a boot screen.

Anyone any ideas? I had the drive hooked up to motherboard with sata cable

Did you disable RAID in the BIOS?

Also, did you even do the checks for ModeB.

You won't always get the spinning up disc, but you'll always have to press the eject button twice to open or close the drive.

yeah done the mode b checks and nothing, also i went into bios and i cant get any settings for raid, there are none available

I noticed sometimes that when slax is going through and you do not eject tray when it says spinning up disk,it wouldnt go into mode b for me.even if it doesnt get stuck there eject tray anyways,then at slax login try checking for mode b,worked for me.

99% of the time it is your SATA Chipset. I'd recomend either purchasing a new one, or possibly updating your driver. Hope this helps I had a hell of a time flashing my 78.
