Can't get MSDASH to boot

Just did an X3 install on a v1.1 xbox and the chip works, goes to factory bios flash screen, but can't get the MS to load at all. When I hold in the power button the X turns red but then does not boot up but rather resets and boots using the chip.

When doing the install I messed up the DO connection and had to retrace the path but I get connectivity through my multimeter so I figure it is ok. Is this still a DO issue or could it be something else. Tried to disconnect the chip and when i powered up nothing loaded and the eject button flashes red/green. Any clue?

That's what I'm thinking but i see a connection through the multimeter from my DO solder point to the ends of the connection so I think it should be ok????

that's weird. if you can get to the flash bios then go ahead and flash it. do you need to get onto xbox live?

Well it's not mine. I got an older chip in my xbox and everything works perfect lol. I'm doing this one for a friend and it's the first time i've done this chip so I'm trying to get it to work exactally right.

Also if it helps when I take the chip out and reconnect OEM equipment when I go to boot it tries 2 times with restarts then on the 3rd restart it goes to a flashing red/green light. I'm starting to believe when I f'ed up the DO trace I didn't not get the retrace to connect properly. Would this cause these issues?

First time I've ever had trouble w/ the do... I don't like not having a single solid wire to solder, flattened the multiple wires w/ the soldering iron and thats when my problems started!

Woo! Got it to boot up again with nothing in it. Bridged the DO connection with a wire now it seems to be getting me the MSDASH.

Thanks for the info. Going to resolder the DO point to the chip now and cross my fingers... but I think it will work now.

That did it... everything works as it should now.

Wouldn't have been a total loss, would have gotten a samsung drive out of the mess even if I messed it all up. Guess I'll have to keep looking on ebay for one of them lol.
