BENQ Cant get spoofed BenQ into vendor mode

I have a drive that is BenQ inside and out that has been spoofed to a Lite-on Stock. I am wanting to replace the drive with a real Lite-on but need the key. I have read the forums and tutorial about bricked drives also but still no luck. Have tried the half open method, and also treating it as a Lite-on though it is not. I have been flashing for a long time but have never had this kind of problem. Nothing is wrong with my pc or equipment. Have also tried a few of the older Jungleflashers.

That's bizarre that you are not able to send it into vendor mode.

I just messed around with one yesterday and was testing different things out with a slim using a BenQ and I spoofed it as a stock lite-on with the slim Key.

Not sure why yours is erroring out, all I had to do was click BenQ Unlock and away it went into vendor mode.

What are you using to power on the drive out of curiosity?

what flash fw are you having in benq? i once made a drive (dont remember if it was a benq or not, but it was spoofed) with using activation cd, you just put it into the drive when it is off (let it open with cd in) and then power on, it closes and the key just appear in JF... then ctrl+c the key and put it manually into lite-on fw and then flash lite-on drive with your key

Activation cd is used for HL drives. You should just be able to press the benq unlock button.

No, thats the 79 unlock disc.

Unlocking the drive is all dependant on what fw is on there.

The last few iXtreme's before LT blocked the magic 28/41 unlock method.

generally, just follow the tutorial for the physical drive - in this case benq (benq unlock - read) and then copy the key into right fw which you need

And the activate.isois 100% redundant on any hitachi drive.

I would attempt to try getting it into vendor mode through bad flash recovery. Using a probe. ON page 201 of the JF tutorial guide.

If you don't have a probe all you need to do is ground the point. Using a bit of wire or paper clip. A good ground point is another Molex plug on your power supply, the two middle holes are ground. (This is a desperation way, but I have done this before when Aliens stole my probe.... (seriously i just couldn't find it for a few days)
