can't get to FlashBIOS or backup anymore

I have a brand new, just bought 5 days ago, Xbox v1.6, an X3 CE, the X3 Control Panel and a 300GB hdd.
Now, let’s see if I can keep this all in order. I have read so much and done so much in the last few days that it all seems to be blending together.

Installed the chip, after two attempts, correctly. Reached the FlashBIOS screen and using the HTTP method flashed the chip with the X3 3294 v16plus.bin with the buttons on the Control Panel set to “on, on, off, off” and the first button (the big one that says “protect”) set to “off”. The flash went great as far as I could tell. I even got in and looked at all the stuff in the new BIOS, like the “live config” stuff. I even went in and changed the colors of my “flubber” and other stuff.
Everything was working great. I could boot into the M$ dash, the FlashBIOS screen and the Xecuter “Rocks my Socks” screen.
Burned Slayers onto a brand new Sony CD-RW disk w/Nero, following all recommended settings exactly. Then used it on the 300GB HDD. I even printed out the entire manual just so I could be sure to follow every step EXACTLY as it should be. No errors, everything seemed to go great. I used the “Upgraded HD to C drive, option 3a1”.
Well, upon reboot the EvoX dash would not come up. I could still reach the M$ dash, the FlashBIOS screen and the Xecuter “Rocks my Socks” screen, but it would freeze at the “rocks my socks” screen.
So, I tried it again. I still had the same problem. Tried it a third time. This time, after the Slayers disk was taken out and the Box rebooted I could only get to the M$ dash and the “Rocks my Socks” screen (where it would just freeze up). I could not get back to the FlashBIOS screen any more. It would just go to a blank screen.

*NOTE* don’t know it this is important or not, but since it is not exactly what the walk-thru said they should do and just for the sake of completeness here is a list of what my buttons did do BEFORE the third try with Slayers disk:
Quick push power button = M$ dash w/ a red light in the Control Panel
Long push power button = same as quick push
Eject button = “Rocks my Socks” screen w/ a blue light
Both buttons = FlashBIOS screen w/ a pink/purple light
After the third run with Slayers, everything still works the same except for the FlashBIOS not coming up. I even tried all of the above button configs with the first button on the Control Panel (the big one that says “protect”) in both the on and off positions. Also tried all button configs with both the “white button” and “a+b+y+x buttons” stuff. NOTHING seems to be able to get me back to the FlashBIOS screen or a dashboard.
The reason I want to get to the FlashBIOS screen is because I want to re-flash the BIOS in the hopes that it will help fix my problems. I even went to the next 1mb bank (off, on, off, off) to try to get to the back-up FlashBIOS screen and start again there. But I still couldn’t get to FlashBIOS.

I jumped on these forums and the Slayers forums and started reading until my eyes blured. Tried all the usual suggestions about “holding the white button”, ”holding A+X+Y+B buttons”. Nothing would get me back into the FlashBIOS screen.
Finally settled on the fact that maybe my burned copy just was not good enough. So I re-burned the Slayers onto a TDK DVD R- and tried it again.
Still doing nothing but getting me to M$ dash, “Rocks my Socks” screen, or just a black screen where the FlashBIOS used to be.
I have read and printed out more “noob guides”, tutorials, and walk-thrus than I care to admit, and have read just about every friggin’ post on these (Xbox-Scene and Team Xecuter) forums there is. I tried getting on Slayers forums but their “register now” link is busted (error- Parse error: parse error, unexpected '}' in /home/slayer/public_html/forum/includes/usercp_register.php on line 781) so I can not get on their forums to look around to research my problems or post this asking for help.

As much as I hate to admit defeat and ask for help, (I am a computer tech For Epic Computing here in Knoxville, TN and own my own side custom built PC and PC modding business) I am just lost and in need of help. I am not a complete noob. I have a 1.2 Xbox that I moded with an original Xecuter chip and 250GB hdd that I have LOVED for about, I guess, 2 years now. I just wanted to upgrade to a newer Xbox and that kick a$$ Control Panel so my kids would let me play what and when I wanted because I will be giving them the old Xbox. I have also successfully modded a 1.4v Xbox with a Xenium ICE chip and a 160GB hdd for a friend. But this mod attempt has me going nuts, and is just whipping my a$$ to be honest about it.

Anyways, any help any of you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did put in a password. I still remember what it is as well.

:D YEAH!!!! that means that my brain hasn't totaly melted away because of this.
But, then again, I guess it doesn't help much if I can't get to the screen to put it in, huh?? I hope this fix you are talking about will work. If it does, I will make a little picture of you and every morning, when I get out of bed I shall bow to your likeness.

I wonder if I put back in the original hdd, if that would alow me to go back and re-flash the BIOS. Efectively allowing me to start over?

If you haven't talked with digthebox via pm, you need to download bios 1959 from xbins. There is an x3erase function in this bios you need to use. Then , never use a password again. This function does not work and causes what you have experienced.

Thanks you two. The flashing to the old BOIS worked.

What I did to get it back to showing me the flashBIOS screen again was simply take the old hdd and put it back in and left it unplugged overnight. The next day it was back to showing me the FlashBIOS screen again.

And YES, the FIRST thing I did was go in and remove the password and LEFT IT BLANK:D

Thanks again guys. I added to both of your reps for the help.
