Can't get to X3 Config Live when holding white button....

I had it working once... I keep booting into my dashboard... It is a new 1.6 xbox with the factory controller. Only 1 controller as well. Running 3.0.3 and Flashbios 3.0.1.

Any idea how I can get back to X3 Config Live? The hold white button while booting doesn't work.

Um try flashing it with the X3 BIOS

Thats a little harsh boys......

I had it working once...

would indicate that it is flashed with x3 ?


Try unplugging memory cards etc.. from the controller.

Failing that, re-flash with x3 bios.

and flashbios wouldnt load a dashboard they just jumped to conclusions too quick!!

I had this issue too. Hit the green button real quick when it turns on, and then hold down the white. Seemed to fix it right up.

Amazing spectrum of people replying.

My post says 3.0.3 Assuming you aren't really dumb, you'll note that is the latest rev of the X3 bios. I distinguish that by saying I'm running Flashbios 3.0.1 (cause the 3.0.3 of Flashbios doesn't work on a 1.6).

I've also done the re-flash a couple of times.
No memory cards in the controllers, etc.

I'll try the green button thing to see if that works. Thanks for the tip.

NeonRabbit.... nothing in the noob guide (that I've already read) indicates what to do when holding the white button down doesn't work.

how did you attempt to flash the chip with the x3 bios (not cromwell bios) assuming you even did. You do it thru network or did you use a disc? Also what build of x3 bios did u flash with?

you obviosuley have to flash it with the x3 bios first

the white button is when you disable autostart of x3 config live in the x3 config live menu.

go back to that noob guide on the front page of this site and then select the bios flashing link to the left side. From what it sounds like it seems that you never flashed with anything other than the cromwell bios.

Neon, I flashed the X3 bios version 1959 by enabling the network option in the FlashBios 3.0.1 screen and then using HTTP.

Xecuter, that is my problem... I've disabled the config live autostart and holding down the white button during boot doesn't bring it back.

I haven't yet tried the green button as suggested a couple posts previous.

try holding down "x" or "y" because those also get me back to config live. I held down "a" and it brought me not to my first bootable .xbe but my second which was mxm. I tested not holding anything and it took me to evox as it should. Holding "back" or "b" upon boot works also but it was a bit glitchy when loading config live. Holding "start" doesnt do anything when you hold it. Holding "black" doesnt do anything either.

this was all tested using my blue Controller S. Hope this helps some of you.

And holding down immediately after pressing the power button, or holding those down WHILE pressing the power buttong (and continuing to hold until it loads config live) ?

only reason to hold power down for more than 2 seconds is to boot using retail bios. Other than that, quick press of power for chip enable, hold down one of the buttons i mentioned before that work.

yea, lol a few of my friends have already poked the fan while running, didn't end well lol. I was thinking about adding a grill, I'm still looking for the perfect one!
