Can't get Xecuter 2.6 to work

I got an Xecuter 2.6 modchip from a friend. My friend had already modded his xbox and another friend's xbox. He told me that everything was completely solderless and gave me a kit for it. From all of the tutorials I've seen, I've done everything right. I installed the solderless adapter (i think it's xapter, not xapt3r). I have the switch thing set up and connected to the modchip, which is connected to the adapter. When I turn it on, it just boots like normal. How do I get it to work? From the tutorials I've seen, I did it right.

By the way, it wasn't exactly a *kit*. He gave me an old hdd box that had a bunch of wires, pins, adapters, etc, which I haven't attempted learning how to use.

what version xbox do you have

solderless are a pain in the bum you have to get two blue lights and one red before do anything
try loseing screw and moveing chip about to you get lights then tighten screw
