I bought a western digital 320gb hard drive and replaced a 20gb xbox 360 hard drive.

My xbox reads it fine but I can't get my computer to read the hard drive. Xplorer360 says can not find a FATX drive to open.

I tried running as admin and running in compatibility mode for windows xp and vista but still no luck.

anyone know how i can get this working?

Not too sure if I'm 100% right here but I think you need Xport360 to read HDD above 120GB.......:)

Connect the hdd with the gray transfer usb cable
Wait 10 seconds to recognize windows the hdd
Start XPort360 and there will be the hdd

If not:
The Security Sector and the partitions are faulty

Xport360 now recognizes the hdd but I can't see any files in any of the partition folders?

There's partition 1,2, and 3 but no files show up on the right hand side when I click on them.

I had another xbox with a stock 250 gb hdd and i connected it to the pc and it does let me see the files on the hdd with that one.

I'm thinking about switching that stock hdd with the other xbox that's jtagged and use the 320gb hdd on the non jtagged xbox.

try using Party Buffalo Drive Explorer, seems to be more compatible ... you do realize that this thread was nearly 12 months since the last post

Yeah I know, it was just something that came up in a search I did and noticed noone had answered anything. I got all of it working anyway. Running as Administrator, using HDD Drivers that came with Modio.
