Cant install dashboard!!!

i`ve flashed X2 5035 to my chip (bank 2) now...everything`s fine. he boots up the xboxdash (with Xecuter rox my box at the bottem)

i`ve tryed a unleashX bootdisk and i made a ISO from it (nero). but when i put the cd in my xbox he say`s (again) that he can`t recognize the cd (please insert a xbox game or dvd-movie.....remove disk to continue). maby my bios has the wrong settings orso???(if possible) i`ve tryed to burn a iso from unleashx from xbins but still same problem

plz help me cos i`ve already spend days reading!!!:(

yes i did...some extra info: xbox 1.6, Xecuter 2.6CE, flashbios 3.01 on banks 1&2 and X2_5035 on 3&4

doesn`t work either

i`ve read some more and now i see something about XBtool...so i got it and i tryed 2 use it to make a new bios from X2_5035 v1.6 but he cant read it (unknown kernal orso)

do i have 2 use XBTool?? or has anyone an other suggestion??

and what do i have 2 do with the config.ini file thats with the X2 bios??
do i need 2 put it on the disk as well before flashing my chip??
should i use XBTool to config the bios...XBTool cant read the new X2_5035 1.6 bios (why cant he?)
"dvdBootXbeName = default.xbe"--> does it mean the iso-file of UnleashX should be called like that? or just default.xbe instead of unleashx.xbe

plz help me cos i`m stuck :(

next problem...now i`ve tryed to flash the chip with m8plus v 1.6
flashbios to bank 1&2 and m8plus to bank 3&4...the flashing wend good but when i booted the xbox up again it frags on bank one and on bank 2 is still X2 5035...so wtf do i need to do now???

plz help me cos i`m realy stuck now!!!

did you resize both bios to 512k?
if not, you probably flashed a combined 256k of flashbios and 256k of m8plus16 which would cause you a frag on bank one and leaving bank 2 alone

check out the flashbios guide the on the front page of the site

My suggestion would be to stop flashing the BIOS until you get access to your HDD via a boot disc. You've got X2CL 5035 successfully flashed to bank 2, what more can you want on your chip? Ok, FlashBIOS for emergency recovery is a good idea. What I'm saying is why install M8?

ok anyway...i`m just going to use bank 2 since there is 5035 on it...but my xbox still doesn`t recognize any cd i put in...so i cant install a dashboard

what to do???

double check your x2config.ini file to make sure you didn't rename the dvdbootxbename to anything else

try the rescue.xbe instead of default.xbe and see if it loads

make sure you're burning your cds/dvds properly as well

ok all i`ve got an dash on it (by using slayers auto-installer)

not i`ve got an next question: how to connect to my xbox via my computer (using ftp)??

Assuming you already have both successfully on the same network and that your current dashboard is running an FTP server... You'll need to set your FTP client to connect to the Xbox's IP address (probably 192.168.something.something). Chances are a user ID and password will be required, standard defaults I've seen tend to be "xbox" (no quotes) for both. You'll then see your Xbox's partitions listed as folders, C, D (dvd drive), E, F and maybe G if you've got a replacement HDD, X, Y and Z. I believe X, Y and Z are all just temporary drives, I've never looked into their purpose.

It is generally a good idea to make a backup of your current configuration (especially C) to recover in case you goof something along the way.
