can't install evox

I have no idea why i can not install it onto my xbox. I have bios 3.03 and have made discs on cdrw and dvdrw. The annoying thing is my xbox always say can't recognize the disc and on my mates it works.

I have Xbox 1.4 wire install

Help me please or it will see Mr Hammer

well like i said i have 3.03 from the xecuter site. The original bios was the 3.01 if that is what you mean.

ok Martin C first off all we're not all nerds. Reading all this bullshit u ppl write is just confusing and doesnt make sense because most of the time it contradicts from tutorial to tutorial or some twat just says check your solder points.

In answer to terminators question, u need to install this other bios with is only available from what these nobs call 'the usual places' which to me and u is the irc channel. its on the ftp in a folder called bios's then in the folder called x3. (i'll give it to you)

Erm and about the disk not being recongized there might be someone that reads this that might know why.

A: A hacked BIOS. They are illegal which is why you won't find one on this site. Go to #xbins on EFNet and you'll see how to access the #xbins FTP Server.

If you think that by reading this you need to be a nerd to understand the fact that the BIOS you require is not on this website, then remove your chip and continue using it as a kiddies games console.

You're doing things to your Xbox which Microsoft never intended you to do. There's no idiot-proof guide to any of this. You're gonna have to be a little tech-savvy to do most mod-related things so if you're not already doing so, get reading.

I am not a nerd. I know my way around computers and technology but am definitely not a nerd.

Secondly, I do not write bullshit. I get bullshit questions like the ones in this thread, but I certainly don't write it. Like I said before, if you don't understand what you're doing then read until you do. If you still don't understand, pay someone who does. If you're not prepared to do either then don't bother with a chip. They are for people with common sense and a little computer-savvy. If you have neither quality then give up now.

EDIT: The disk cannot be recognised as FlashBIOS wants a BIOS CD. It's all there in the FlashBIOS guide on the main page. You've made a boot disk, which FlashBIOS doesn't know what to do with.

I am new to this whole thing! Lets see, First, I must not read anything at all and blindly buy a chip and shove it into an Xbox. Next, I must turn it on and whine because that strange blue screen thingy won't let me play games. Finally, I must come here and post questions and get insulted when I am pointed in the correct direction to find the answers myself so I need to spout profanity at the people that are keeping their cool and trying to help me! Martin, just so you know, most of us here on this forum appreciate the help and support you and all of teamX gives us. I really have no idea why people get so mad at Martin C. He's got to the most helpful, knowledgable, and friendly person on this entire forum. He helped me FTP my XBox, even though I should have already have known how through the stickys and Google searching. It was my fault I did not know how to FTP, and he would have been completely justified in not answering my pleas for help. Yet, he took time out of his (I'm sure) busy schedule to explain step-by-step instructions to me. Thanks, Martin!

Now, I try to help out people as much as possible in friendly and helpful ways. I know how appreciative one can be if they are in a major bind, but are able to fix it. After all, I was afraid I had lost all functionality in my XBox until Martin told me how to fix it!

Plus, why does Martin really need to get his post count any higher? I think he's pretty well up there.

If you cannot be bothered to at least use the god-given common sense you were born with, then i'm not going to spoon-feed you.

For those I do help and are successful, it's purely down to the effort and willingness to learn that YOU show to me. It's very much a two-way thing, as you'll find most support teams are anyway
