cant move in flash bios

hi all,
i seem to have this weird problem. i am unable to navigate in the flash bios screen. and before u say use an official control pad i already am and this is not the only problem, when i try to disable the chip by holding down the power button it just makes the switch bank turn purple and the dvd ejects, and if i press the eject it will power up the xbox, pressing it again will turn it off.
please help, by the way i am using an X3 in a Version 2 board with a samsung drive and a stock harddrive.

First no controller.
Have you reconnected the controller ports to the motherboard?? try controller in port 3?

switch turns purple...sounds like there maybe a solder bridge on the pwr/rst board supplied.
A few have left the factory with micro "whiskers" of solder between some of the pins..remove the board and measure betwwen adjacent pins and make sure they are all open!!
or peel off the sticky back and inspect very closely..if it is a bridge some have been near microscopic.

first of all thanks for the reply, and i found out y i couldnt move in the flashbios it was because i had a memory card in the pad. feel kind of stupid now. and i think there is a bridge between two soldier points. should i just desoldier them or scrape it off.

Never even thought about a mem card..DOH

also just scrape with a razor blade..every other post with this prob seems to fix it that way.
