Hi,

I have a nandx with v3 (according to the box) and a coolrunner kit. I also bought a nandx to coolrunner cable.

When I plug nandx in it lights up and works fine and works with the jtag kit for the old dash using Coolshrimps jtag tool. However, When programming the coolrunner (which lights up when connected to a 360) no lights come on on either the coolrunner OR the nandx.

Connection goes: USB > Nandx > coolrunner cable > coolrunner (connected the correct way red at the bottom, green at the top). Coolrunner is set to Phat and Prog. Also tried with Phat and Nor but nothing works.

How can I program my coolrunner? All parts are genuine TX parts too.

Thanks,
Connah

My house
The cable that runs from nandx to cool runner, where it connects to the CR, is it the right way round? from memory I believe it's shiny side up, but please check!

Programming the TX CoolRunner

Disconnect the cables from the NAND-X (not sure if that's actually needed, but probably for the best) (the wires can stay soldered for now)

Make sure the switch on the CoolRunner is set to PRG (program)

Connect the CoolRunner to your NAND-X using the NAND-X to CoolRunner JTAG Cable

Enter one of the following commands (corresponding to your motherboard revision) (info) into the command prompt window, and hit Enter.

NandPro xsvf: Trinity.xsvf
NandPro xsvf: Jasper.xsvf
NandPro xsvf: Falcon.xsvf
NandPro xsvf: Opus.xsvf
NandPro xsvf: Zephyr.xsvf

Once the CoolRunner is programmed, it will say "Successfully executed file", in the command prompt window, and the Green LED will turn off.

creditz go to the FiB3R tutoria

Thanks for all the info. Yes my cables were right and my switches were right. Nothing worked though. I pressed reset of the NANDx and now it lights up on the coolrunner (yay!) but only the red light comes on nandx now. The yellow light isnt on and it doesnt seem to connect to my computer only to get power.

Ok I think Its my USB ports. The first time I plugged NANDx in ((today) there was a popping sound. Now none of my devices are working via USB. Power is going to them but thats it.

One more thing to look for where the CR cable plugs into the NAND-x. You want the red wire toward the USB port on the NAND-X. The picture above is correct. On mine it was much easier to plug the connector in upside down. Once I did this...MY laptop gave a message that my USB ports have been shut down, and nothing worked until I rebooted. After a lot of wiggling I managed to get the connector in the correct way, and everything worked fine.

Don't forget to reboot your computer if you did this to reactivate your USB ports.
