v1.0 XBox, Xecuter3, Samsung DVD drive, 60GB IBM Deskstar.
I installed a few weeks ago and everything seemed to be fine. I flashed the BIOS; installed avalaunch, evoX and XBMC; copied some backups, emulators, and homebrews over via FTP; and can run everything fine from the harddrive.
But I can't seem to read any disks when the mod is enabled. If the mod is disabled I can put in a retail game disk and it runs absolutely fine. If, however, I enable the X3 and put in a burned game disk, DVD movie, or burned data disk (full of videos) nothing recognizes the disk. EvoX, XBMC, and dvd2xbox all just hang on "initializing disk" or just show nothing on the disk. Same thing happens if I put in a legit XBox disk and try to rip it with dvd2xbox. I've tried with CD-Rs, CD-RWs, DVD-Rs, and DVD+Rs and it's the same thing every time, so I don't think it's a media issue (especially with the Samsung drive, which should read damn near anything).
So the only thing I can figure is that one of the LPC pins controls the X3s ability to access the DVD drive and I may have a bad solder point or lifted trace on that one pin. I looked at the LPC pinout thread but didn't see one immediatly labeled as "DVD" or something similar.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
