BENQ Cant retrieve DVD key

Hi there just after some much needed advice im trying to retrieve my key from a benq drive which is spoofed as a liteon my friend actually tried to update it before i could put it back to stock but everytime i try to retrieve key my computer crashes have tried other xbox's and works perfectly is it now a posh dvd player
please help

what exatly happens when your pc crashes???? at what point, and do u get any errors??

when i try to retrieve dvd key pc crashes sometimes bsod other times just freezes etc jf finds drive etc everything ok till trying to get dvd key and i never flashed this one before came preflashed so dont have the key anywhere also when you try to put disc in to play 1 red light error code e45

not sure what the crash issue is - try updating to the latest JF - what kit are u using.....
you can recover a BenQ from bad flash by following the JF tut in the documentation folder.....page 201

using usual equipment x360usb pro ck3 pro molext power supply am using the newest jf, it happened after my mate decided to update the dashboard while it was flashed but i will read that guide now thanks

Depends on what your FRIEND did to it whilst trying to flash it himself :eek2:

Can you provide more information as it sounds like the PC is fried

he wasnt trying to flash it he updated the dashboard to the new one while it had lt 1.9 on it before i could put the firmware back to standard

oh and it was my friend he wanted to play fifa 12 and couldnt as i hadnt updated the dash as i hadnt got round to flashing it back to standard then reflashing it after update but i was cooking dinner and he tried to update the dashboard now i have a brick

reboot your pc and try to hook it up again.

i cant see how your pc crashes when you hook up your drive.

not with using the usb pro anyway

nah just saying so many got stuffed up because they updated from a FIFA 12 backup and not the original so were stuck in an update loop, happened with Madden 12 also

was about to say reboot your pc...you are running jf as admin too i hope

ive rebooted several times its only on this drive when i try to get the dvd key from it, i dont understand why its doing it to the drive shows up fine until you try to retrieve key the computer crashes everytime strange and it was from an original fifa 12 it suposedly upated then straight away had 1 red light flashing and coming up with e45 if you take the disc out and turn on xbox takes about 5 mins to get past logo screen its really really slow

Try to clear the console system cache by holding the 'SYNC' button and keeping it pressed in whilst switching on power. Hold the 'SYNC' button until the console completes booting :wink:

done that to im miffed found someone to send it to for 15 squid i cant be bothered with the hassle he said he will either get it from the drive or the nand

If you think the PCB is fried and you want it repairing then contact Teajunkie he is the GOD of all things PCB wise, and he might be cheaper :wink:

if the drive is showing in Jf then its not the drive. return the drive to stock fw (0251c) then download 13146 update (google it) put that onto usb stick and try to update. if that dont work download 13599 update and do same as the previous update. it should be fine after that, then flash back to LT

Never heard of that happening but if you plug the power cable in up-side down it fooks em up pretty good (not saying you did that just an example) :tongue:
