can't sign into live

I did not get banned because i never signed on yet. The problem that I am having is when i try to sign on it detects my ip address but it then when it does the system test it comes up that Xbox live not found. What could be the problem. I have it set to automatically detect settings. I know XBL works because i can get on with my unmodded box!!

i had that problem too. i updated my router firmware and that fixed it.

i can get on with my other non modded xbox but not with the modded box. I don;t understand why it says xbox live not found. It gets an ip address but it just says "Xbox live not found"!!! Why??

And you're doing this from the Xbox Dash with the chip turned off, correct?

yes, the chip is turned off. The X is red and it boots into the MS dash. When i do the test it doesen;t pass the forth process. I don;t think i have been banned because it would let me on the live and then tell to go screw myself basically!!

what error does it give you?? Something about mtu? And you shouldnt be banned since you would get a message saying that it cant connect because it would giv you a message saying something about finding a software or hardware modification. Try calling ms support even, 1-800-4-my-xbox is the number for the us.

It just says "xbox live not found" and when i click on details it says to call ms. It passes all the post test besides the last one. I can;t call MS because the seial number came off when i took the xbox apart.

i dont think you NEED to give them seriel number (though thats in eeprom settings which you can check in config live im sure). Last time i called a while back i just said i dont know the number for whatever reason and thry dont really care. Thats just their way of keeping an eye on us :shock: :shock:

yes i transfered the gamer tag from my one box to the other

pretty odd. since its nothing mod related (or atleast it doesnt seem like it) you should just try the support line i posted earlier.

Yeah thats probably my next step. There is nothing i should turn off in the chip settings correct? I would think not because the chip is off but then again iI don't know what the deal is?!?!

Copy over your backed up eeprom and overwrite the one in C:

This will fix it.

how do i do that? I know i backed up my data off of my stock hd, but how do i copy the eeprom?

boot xbox in to config live and by holding down white button when you turn it on, then fxp to your xbox and copy the backed up eeprom over the one in C: on the xbox,it will pause, run to the xbox and lselect yes to realy overwrite eeprom.

When I login via FXP and i click on the C:\ the only folders i see in there are:
Audio
Fonts
Skin
Trainers
xboxdashdata.185ead00
xodash

then i have theses files:
evox.ini
evoxdash.xbe
Xbox book.xtf
xbox.xtf
xboxdash.xbe

i don't see the admin folder!!! When i look up my backed up data i see it there but not on my xbox????
