This is a harddrive I'm trying to install. It doesnt come with x2config.ini on it. The bios is supposed to boot from dvd if it doesnt detect an ini and its not doing that. I even created a rescue disc(one with rescue.xbe) and thats not working either. Whats up with this bios?

Now how am I supposed to use an EvoX bootdisk? If I'm not mistaken, Slayer's Installer IS and EvoX bootdisk(just beef'd up).

what happens when you put your original drive back in?
do you get any error codes after the config live loading screen?

So does your original HDD work with the chip enabled? -
Do you have the x2config.ini on the original HDD? -
Does slayers boot When original HDD is installed? -
Have you checked your chip installation? -
All points on the lpc are ok? D0 is ok?

Slayers booted first go for me with a fresh HDD installed using the 5035 bios.

I have a TSOP flash, my original HDD works fine with it. Slayers boots with original HDD in.

"And no this bios cannot be split in half to be 256k and flashed to TSOP"

This is straight from the readme included with the bios - umm maybee this is your problem?

No, people that have a 256k TSOP cannot flash it because it cannot be downsized to 256k, thats what thats saying. If they were saying it cannot be flashed to TSOP at all then I just proved them wrong, but thats not what its saying.

Hmm - A 1.0/1.1 tsop requires a 1mb bios

Where as a 1.2/1.5 requires a 256kb bios

If you have flashed it to a 1.2/1.5 then the bios is incomplete - and you are buggered!

If you have a 1.0/1.1 and have flashed the 512kb bios by itself to the chip then you are also buggered!

Strange that it works when the standard hdd is installed tho...

You can make your own EvoX boot cd.

As it turns out, the reason the hard drive wasn't working is because it was locked from the eeprom of my 1.6. Simply put, all I had to do was unlock the hdd with my v1.6 Xbox and put it into my v1.0. Really, I feel like a friggin idiot but at least I finally figured it out. Gotta love those error codes. Thanks to everyone that tried to help out though.:)
