hello all,
i have a little problem trying too make a JTAG working.
the problem is that i cant read the nand or write too the nand.
it gives me read error 400
i already have tried too read it, and it sees that my cb is good. but then it just gives error for each block.

also, when i boot up the xbox 360, i can change the settings in system menu. but it doesnt saves them.

i bought this xbox 360 used, and i see that there is some little tin soldered on some pins of the NAND

i dont have a good camera too make a picture of it, so i will make a diagram for it too show you guys where the tin is.

somebody things he know the answer?
plz tell me :)

First thing to try is get a multi-meter and check all your soldering as this is the main issue people have

yeah my connections are good, but i think the problem is already there, cause normally when you change your system settings, it saves them and the next time you start the xbox up they are changed. but now not, the settings dont change.

so there has too be a problem with the read/write of the nand.

or not?

Have a look around this pin this is the wp one.
shouldn't affect reading though.

I suppose it's possible that one of the I/O lines are shorted but would expect that to manifest in other ways!

Won't know for sure until we see pics of top of NAND *AND* underneath it.

That pin shouldn't be connected at all. Have a close look - does it look like it's just bent over, or is there solder there. If it just looks like it's bent over, get a pin (or an exacto knife) and CAREFULLY try to straighten it so it's not touching anything else.

Then try again :)

its not bend over, there is some solder on those pins.

i think im gonnan try getting such a solder remover strip?
and just remove that little piece of solder, and then try it again.

Yeah, get some desoldering braid and flux - it should lift it cleanly.
i hate de-soldering braid cant ever seem to make it work for me i generally use de-soldering tools like a "solder sucker" (prefferably the bulb version) and a de-soldering iron

i dont know maybe i just have the wrong technique for using it but the braid just seems to act as a heat sync when i put the braid on top of the point im trying to de-solder than the iron on top, than again maybe a hotter iron is called for i'm still learning a technique in general for soldering that works best for me tho i am getting WAY better
