cat find flash controller

i cant get the nand x to work in win 7 x64 or win xp x32
i can get pics in a few mins
i have installed drivers in both
im using nandpro 2.0d and jtag tool to no avail
should i just use the wires on the underside of the board?

I would put it down to soldering, if you have a multimeter check for continuity with a probe on the underside of the motherboard and a probe on the qsb, most problems would be solder related

so put one probe on top of the solder joint and the other on the bottom?

edit:dont know if this helps but dosent have rrod but has xclamps removed
also the eject light DOESNT flash when there is no drive connected

Is it possible that the Powercord is not connected? That would get you errors like that.

For nand-flashing you need the Powersupply to be connected, but the xbox mustn´t be turned on.

the av cable is in also if that makes any difference

you do not need the av cable in and the xbox should have mains lead connected but not turned on (as stated above)
When using the multimeter put on probe on the pin header point on the underside of the motherboard and another on the corresponding point on the qsb, this helps to check if soldering is good, what wattage soldering iron did you use as it is possible to burn out the solder points if the soldering iron is to hot and you are not careful

I've soldered wires directly and used qsb's, both with no problems, any problems have been solder related, good luck!!

40w imo is a lil much I use either a 15 or 20w max personally

ok i soldered the wires to the bottom of the mobo leaving the qsbs in but not on and i still get cant find controller problem
could it be a faulty nandx?

You've probably burnt one or more of the pads off, take some photo's of the underside of MB

Yea I haven't had one dump even start it just keeps coming up that stupid error
Sorry I have been at this for 12hrs with nothing to show for it
Any more ideas?

Edit:this is my first ever jtag so I was a bit happy when I repaired it to find it had kernel 5xxx

You need to check each pin for continuity to its alt point. Find which one is bad, then run a jumper wire.

Ok, alternative solder points is what I meant. If you lift, burn, wreck, ruin a point, the link I gave you gives an alternate soldering point for each. You just need to scroll down to the pic of the points you need, then probe with a ohm, multimeter for continuity from the alternative point to you pins on the qsb. Whatever points reading no continuity, you will need to run a jumper wire, or resolder them.

Why does it look like you have the nand x usb cord pluged into a stereo reciever?
My wife says the same thing!!! she spotted what appears to be the problem within 30 seconds!!!
