Hello,

I was thinking, the 5.2B is at 4x, and told to be very quiet. I want to give it a try. At this point I have the 5.2A on my drive, how do I change to 5.2B?
Do i first reflash my drive to the original firmware again? And then to the 5.2B? Or is there an easier way? Since it's working perfectly now I wouldn't want to screw it up by doing something wrong when changing from one hacked firmware to another.

Greets.

you know that saying, if it aint broke...

but if you do decide to reflash anyway, i would recommend 5.2D. most games play fine at 4x (for me at least) but occassionally you will run across one that only wants to be played at 12x. i have even had games that show "unrecognized disc" at 4x but will play fine when i speed the drive up. with D you have that option to speed the drive up with an original game.

you can reflash over the old firmware. also remember you need to disable firmguard to reflash.

Yeah I recommend 5.2D as well.

That way you get the nice and quiet default 4x speed, and you can change it to 12x if you find that some games load too slow , which aren't too many.

You don't have to reflash to the original firmware.. but you want to make sure that you DO backup the original firmware before proceeding. and you want to make sure when you reflash, that the firmware contains the drive key.
