Is there a way to do this that I have overlooked? It's the only thing stopping me from going on live.

hmmm, does live detect the hdd serial or the volume serial? I found something to change the volume serail number...
no, mairrage theory. if you get a new eeprom and the hd serial is still the same, you will be banned.
If he has a new HD and a new EEPROM then M$ doesn't have either of those numbers married.rh387 said:

In one of the posts of Xecuter they sad there was another way. And that was by changing the HD serial. I don't think they sad this for nothing so maybe they know how to change the HD serial. I think it had something to do with hacking the firmware of the HD and change it to you Stock HD serial.

I changed HDD and eeprom in the same time...
you can change the serial by hacking the firmware on the drive or so i read. But i don't know how to do this or the steps needed to.
If you have the funds, buy 2 EEPROMS, flash one, and get a new GT.. I did this after being banned and didnt buy a new HD, after 2 months, I havent been rebanned, actually renewed my live sub for a year, I have 2 extra eeproms at this time, and the same stock HD in. If you do get banned on the other hand you always have the extra eeprom to fall back on. Not to say the MT is false, it just didnt apply to me.
