www.pricegrabber.com - plug in your model number and it does the research for you

but as the old proverb goes - you get what you pay for.

you don't want a "cheap HDTV"

I buy from www.zipzoomfly.com . They have great prices on just about all computer items. Just purchased a 160gb Samsung Spinpoint 7200 rpm and 8mb buffer for $93.00. They almost always have free shipping also. great place to buy!

i got a 200gb drive off pricewatch for $105. You just have to make sure that the company you buy from has a good rating. I like Magnetic Data Technology (MDT) drives they are quiet, and cheap because they are refurb. drives made from western digital, maxtor, and a few other companies. They are like an uber 1337 frankendrive.

outpost.com.... 160 GB for.. $50? After rebate?

Staples has a 200 GB For $100 I believe (unless sale is off)

zipzoomfly.com newegg.com outpost.com ...
costco, BJ's, Sam'sClub all have decent deals when you can get them as well.
Staples and OfficeMax are hit and miss depending upon the deal of the week.

check pricewatch.com - but beware of shipping charges. check retailer out on resellerratings.com

for a great "deals" forum, go to HardOCP's forums and check the [H]ot|Deals area.

Also try fatwallet for rebate deals ... but be careful of them.

I went to best buy before christmas and saw a 300GB HD for 107 after rebates.

Is the Xbox compatable with EIDE drives?

I got a 120gig for $68 shipped a while back. Seagate drive - wasn't top of the line by any means, but I figure - it's an xbox Hard Drive. The most mission critical stuff on there are my game backups, which really wouldn't be that big a deal to lose. Just back them up again. Then there are game saves, and personal settings. So all ya gotta do is keep them backed up too. That's one nice part about having an xbox you can ftp into :)

well i was going to put the xbl account on the used one, delete it from my new one, and mod my new one. this is because the warranty is already voided i guess you can say. I swapped the barf green jewel for a black one off gameconsoleskins. Its strange. my parents dont want me to do anything else to it until i get a backup xbox just in case.

I wonder if microsoft would care if it's just the jewel and not anything internal since that's the reason the sticker covering the screw is there.

well, i was reading the manual and it just vaguely states under things that void the warranty. "5. Modifying the Xbox"
I don't think they'd care. I mean they let you put skins on, whats the difference. I think ill email gameconsoleskins.com ask em if it voids the warranty. If so, I can always swap back the the green jewel to ship it if it breaks.

I did find something interesting on the web (lost the link), this guy modded his xbox, sent it back, and they fixed it because he just broke off the top, didnt unscrew it. lol.
