hahaha thats awesome. An even better way to go is to buy little white stickers and put them over the broken screws. Thats what MS did when I sent my xbox in for repair after I crashed its hdd back before I modded. They just slapped on little white stickers over the screw holes. I'd imagine if you did that they would accept the xbox as long as it doesn't have a pinheader sticking out of the LPC...

thats a good idea, i actually found a place that takes broken xboxes, SLOWLY peels off the stickers, reapplies some sort of adhesive, and sticks them to wax paper and you can buy these stickers. lol. I might do this, but I'd still want to get as much research about modding as possible. I REALLY dont wanna **** it up. Plus, My parents won't lemme till i get a spare. so i gotta get a job :(

I found a site around 3 weeks ago that had a 300 gig hd for $99. I don't remember the site but I'll check out my recently viewed sites and if I can find the link I will post back.

So I guess its not you that works at Target then. Nothing wrong with flipping burgers, or stocking shelves to get some extra $$$.

Maplins sell 200gb 7200rpm for about£90

I'm gonna get that top extender thing from divineo.co.uk so I can fit another 2 drives in my xbox neatly.

Isn't TeamXecuter going to release an extender type thing sometime soon? Maby im thinking of something else. That one on diveno looks cheaply made.

My impression is that it wasn't going to be an extender per se, but a replacement case with capacity for extra drives. Much cleaner solution.

Not much - these are REMANUFACTURED drives ... not even factory REFURBS. To quote ad ...
** MDT reassembles hard drives using components outsourced from major brand hard drive manufactures ie. WD, Maxtor and Seagate. By stamping on the OEM brand MDT they are able to pass on a substantial savings of 35-40% to equivalent brand name manufacturers. We are committed to the excellent quality of MDT's hard drives and offer a 1 year limited replacement warranty **
Price is great, but I have my doubts. I have no issues buying refurbs - for the most part they go through more rigorous testing than a drive fresh off the line - but remanufactured drives are based on drives that failed the refurn process, and have been repaired with random parts from different manufacturers parts bin.

Dicey at best, but I will never trust my data to these drives.

After looking at the extender thing again, I'll wait for the one from Team Xecuter :)
