cheapest box?

Ebay if you're lucky. I bought one yesterday with 2 controllers (one crystal), a memory card, and 19 demos for £77 plus £11 postage. The postage is usually about £15-25 so if you find one cheaper, go for it. Second hand ones in a shop nearby sell them for £84.99 with only one controller, no memory card and no demos, so I got a good deal. A dvd drive costs £40 from divineo.co.uk so if you buy a faulty XBOX, make sure you don't spend more than about £40 on the faulty XBOX including postage or it's not worth it 'cos a new one is £99.99.

What do you plan on using it for ? There's plenty of used/refurbished ones that you can buy for pretty cheap. It's also worth considering a new base unit with no game. They are fairly cheap and most new ones come with the Samsung drive, which is great for all types of media.beamer_nkh said:

I would say that you can buy the cheapest XBoxes at pawn shops. Plus, you don't have to worry about shipping and all that jazz. They might not be the best ones appearence-wise, but the fact they would be pre-chipped would more then make up any loss of price you might get for the fact they would be not-new looking.
Course, then, if you really got into it, you could circumvent this disadvatage by painting them or dropping them into new cases. Heck, you might even be able to make a $200 plus profit on them. I mean, if you were selling these Xboxes to somebody who knew the full capabilities of a modded box, then you could charge, probably, a safe $300 for a XBox in a acrylic case and Xecuter 3 chip installed.

My friend picked up a new Xbox unit for $129. It only came with the controller and cables. That's what I meant by the "base unit with no game". The last Xbox I bought was the holiday bundle for $150. It came with 2 games.beamer_nkh said:

Surprisingly, Xboxes are somewhat difficult to find in my area. It started back after Thanksgiving and it still hasn't gotten much better. Most stores are out of stock. I find that quite interesting, considering the unit is several years old now. I guess Halo 2 generated more interest in it.beamer_nkh said:
