Hi

I haven't connected to live since before the bans started being dished out, is there any other way I can check if I have been banned other than connecting to live? Would it be better to use an original?

Thanks for any advice

As I am in no way a technical expert on Live, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

While no one can still say with certainty how Microsoft records that you have a hacked firmware, used burned discs, etc... - if you did, chances are they have recorded you in their system as such.

In that case, reverting back to the original firmware would not help anything. The only way to check if you have been banned is to connect to Live, and if you have been banned, it wouldn't matter if you connected or not, you would still be banned.

Microsoft most likely roll out bans in batches, so if you are still unbanned and have a hacked firmware, have played backups while being online, or otherwise, you will be banned sooner or later.

However, all this is just guessing at the moment, everything is up in the air. Best option right now is to say offline and wait things out, see how things play.
