Chip & BIOS OK, Do I need a dashboard?

Hi,
I believe that I've correctly fitted my Xecuter 2.6 chip & installed the X2 (5032) BIOS, as when I fire up the xbox I get the MS logo and also the 'Xecuter rox my box' logo.

Should this allow me to play DVD videos without the IR remote, and play DVD films from other regions?
'cos I can't do either of those.

Do I have to load in a dashboard to do the above?

Can someone please explain what a dashboard is?

I originally started the mod so I could run XBMC, do I just need to load that dashboard in now?

Can I do that via a CD, or do I need to FTP, and is there a tutiorial on that?

Also, sometimes when I fire up the old girl, I get the Flash Bios loader instead.

yes need a dash to do this as well as a apps like xdvd
a dash is like windows xp os it let you run apps games emus
install XBMC by means of a auto installer (auto installer deluxe 3 )i have done a copy of post on the mater so look at past coply of days post
