hello yesterday i took out my x3 to add some lights and stuff to the case it worked good befor that. But i put the xapt3r on the board turned it on all the lights lit up blue so i thought i had it put on right. And i put the chip on and put every thing back togeather and when i turned on my box nothing happened the swiches did not light up the chip did not light up nothing. So i took every thing back apart and and pressed bown on it but when i turned on my xbox the top of the chip got really hot and SMT said i fryed the chip i had the 5v thing covered up i really dont know how this happened. Could the xapt3r have done this. So i spent my xmas $$ and bought a new one any ideas how this happened.  :x

if one or more of the wires to the fron panel got sliced and start touching each other or the xbox then it can cause the chip to fry, this will happen if you screw the controller port down tightly.

New here.... Modchip question....

Hey guys, quick question: is there a chip or something that is way easier than flashing my Lite-on 74850C. I mean i know my way around PC's and have enough electronics experience, but i just dont feel like flashing it manually. So yeah help me out please...

Well, if you have a lot of experience with electronics then flashing is pretty easy if you just read up about it. As for modchips, no. The xbox modding landscape is basically softmods.

Pretty much what Smkface said. There are no modchips available or required. There is nothing easier than flashing a drive. If you have electronics experience then flashing your drive would be an absolute walk in the park.

Here are the easy step by step guides and videos that I created over at the Xecuter Forums (I'll dupe them here shortly) - shows you just how simple it is. If you need any further support we will be glad to help you.
